November has opened the door to more actionable conversations about innovation. I had the honour to participate in the roundtable event led by the panel "Innovation made in Latam for Germany" organised by YAKU PARTNERS, with the occasion of the celebration of the Lateinamerika Tag 2024. Roundtable events have the unique quality to foster progress by openly exposing perspectives and questioning the status quo. It was great to learn from the activities lead by Waldo Soto Bruna and Murilo Johas Menezes where they enable innovation on the circular economy and resilience space. Latin America has all the potential to be a place for reciprocal exchange of knowledge, talent and innovation. With Matthias Notz we learned that Start2 Group seek to strengthen collaboration between the two regions. Agri-food technology, solutions for rural development, biotechnology or climate resilience are among the areas where Latin America can bring high value to the German and European markets, where underinnovated sectors could obtain the biggest advantage. I look forward to continue the discussions and be part of the progress where Germany and Europe open the arms to Latin American innovation as well as it is happening the other way around. This year’s Accelerate UK competition has concluded with a remarkable milestone: over 360 applications from Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, and Chile, representing diverse industries. The response reflects the growing interest in the United Kingdom as a destination for innovation and business expansion. After a rigorous selection process, 20 finalists were invited to a two-day workshop to explore the opportunities of the UK market and its competitive advantages. These finalists also became part of the Accelerate UK 2024 Lookbook (https://lnkd.in/d-KsKTBr), showcasing their profiles to stakeholders in the UK. Today, I am proud to announce the three winners of this edition: Beeok from Chile, ViewMind Inc. from Argentina, and Eatcloud from Colombia.
