Helping nonprofits raise money with corporate partnership and sponsorship | Relationship-first approach | Speaker | Fundraising Consultant | Lover of dogs, trees, and being a hockey mom.

In my early days in corporate fundraising, I did this too! There are many reasons why at the time I didn't make the ask when I had the opportunity. And if you've ever done this, you probably have a bunch of reasons too. I definitely know better now, and I'm thinking you do too! 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞: you need to know what you offer and alignment area before you go into the call. Being crystal clear on what this is, will give you confidence. 2. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: Practice the objections. Practice how you’re going to deal with different parts of a call. Talk through possible answers and an exit strategy or two. 3. 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Believe in yourself; you can excel as a corporate fundraiser. Seek support if needed, tap into others’ confidence. Remember it takes practice. I help your major gift team build the advanced skills, strategies and systems you need to hit your ambitious fundraising goals
As a major gift fundraiser, growing your influence is an important part of achieving your goals. And there’s something you’re already doing every day that’s a powerful way to become more influential. Zoe Chance, is a professor at the Yale School of Management who studies persuasion and decision making. In her book, 𝘐𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘐𝘴 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘚𝘶𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳: 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘞𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴, 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯, she writes that one of the easiest ways to become more influential is to ASK: “The easiest thing you can do to become more influential is just ask. Ask more often, ask more directly, and ask for more.” Chance also points out that most of us are reluctant to ask because we fundamentally misunderstand the psychology of asking - and we underestimate our likelihood of success. What do you think? In your experience, has asking helped grow your influence? Coaching reflections: The importance of listening. As our model of support at the @Pearce Foundation is informed by a coaching approach, we appreciate how important it is to really listen to our Charity Partners. We're learning how to employ a global listening approach which allows us to not only observe what they say, but how they say it. What other body cue's can we pick up upon? What's really going on for them? How can we use these insights to offer support? How do you know when you've been really listened to? What does that feel like? What does it feel like when you're not?! More about all of this on our blog.... Enjoy! https://lnkd.in/e8dJgY5u

Leading the Fundraising Recruitment Team🌐 Helping people find the best jobs, and charities find the best people🔎 Champion of EDI and inclusive recruitment 🤝 Over 17 years working in corporate partnerships ✨
Thanks so much for another awesome Amber Consulting webinar Julia Worthington MCIOF(Dip), a pleasure as always to be there! Today's webinar was jam-packed with almost 100 passionate corporate partnerships people! It was awesome to hear Andy King share his insights and tips on how to grab the attention of prospect partners, and make that first contact count! Finding a common thread to make emails cut through the noise is key, as is truly understanding their world once that first meeting is bagged. And my Andy-quote takeaway from the session, on how to maximise impactful stats, really did resonate with me: "Stories make statistics meaningful" Stats on their own are just numbers, intertwining them with real stories is where it makes the biggest impact. Anyone in my network not connected to Julia or Andy, would highly recommend linking-in :) #CorporatePartnerships #TellingStories #Fundraising #CharityPeople

Helping you heal past relationship wounds, learn essential skills, and increase your faith for the love God has for you. 🩵
Do you work in a public-facing profession, constantly surrounded by husband and wife teams at every gala, company party, fundraiser event, etc., only to find yourself attending alone...again? . Where's the person who will help make attending these events more enjoyable because let's be honest, you don't always enjoy these events... . Where's the person who will make celebrating your successes more meaningful b/c if you're honest, you've had enough dinners with Mom, Cousin Noni, and Uncle Michael... . Enough of waiting for your person to drop into your lap...that's weird and inappropriate anyway. . It's time for you to step up and BUST A MOVE! . If you're thinking this post took a turn, it did and so will your life when you act on what you truly desire and make a step to find your person! . I'm here when you're ready. . #professionalsingles #dating #relationships #datingasaprofessional #datingtips #datingtrends #datingadvice #singles #careers #socialnetworking #fundraising
