Don't believe the lies about the trades. People say construction is just a job, not a career. They say it's a dead-end job. And that you can't make a living. But that's far from the truth. Construction is thriving. It's full of opportunities. Many people are making good money. They're learning on the job. They're growing their careers. And right now is the best time to join the trades. Now, if you want to see your work completely transform a building. The painting trade is a perfect place for you. It's not just about putting color on walls. It's about bringing life to spaces. It's about precision and skill. It's about being proud of what you do. So don't listen to the naysayers. Join the trades. Be part of something big. And see your hard work pay off. The trades are waiting for someone like you. #trades #scottcoatings #construction

The Retail Queen | The Craft Fair Queen | Soapy Sue | The Maldon Soap Company | Head Cook & Bottle Washer.
Have you ever had someone come up to you at a craft fair and say 'I could do that cheaper myself? It happened to me all the time when I was glass painting. Here's something I saw the other day and it made me think of you all. Although it's on a larger scale than crafting the principle is the same. Customer: How much to build a deck in the garden. Contractor: £4500 Customer: That’s seems really high. Contractor: What do you think is a reasonable price for this job? Customer: £2500 maximum Contractor: Ok, then why don't you do it yourself? Customer: I don't know how to. Contractor: Ok then, for £2500 I'll teach you how. So besides saving you £2000, you'll learn valuable skills that will benefit you in the future. Customer: Sounds good! Let’s do it! Contractor: OK. To get started, you are going to need a chop saw, table saw, cordless drill, bit set, router, skill saw, jigsaw, tool belt, hammer, etc.. Customer: But I don't have any of those tools and I can't justify buying all of these for one job. Contractor: Ok. Well then for an additional £300 I can rent my tools to you to use for this project. Customer: Ok. That’s fair. Contractor: We will start the project on Monday. Customer: I work Monday to Friday so I’m only available at weekends. Contractor: If you want to learn from me you'll need to work when I work. The deck will take 3 days so you'll need to take 3 days off work. Customer: That means I’m going to have to lose 3 days pay or use my holiday. Contractor: That’s true. But when you do a job yourself you need to account for unproductive factors. Customer: What do you mean? Contractor: Doing a job completely from start to finish includes time spent to plan the project, pick up materials, travel time, petrol, set up time, clean up, and waste disposal amongst other things. That’s all in addition to the actual project itself. And speaking of materials, that’s where we will start on Monday so I need you to meet me at the timber yard at 6:00am. Customer: 6am? I don't start work until 8am! Contractor: Well then you’re in luck! I'll start work on the deck by 8am. But we have to start at 6am to get the materials picked up, loaded and delivered to your job site. Customer: I'm realising that a lot more goes in to a job than what a customer sees in the finished project. Your quote of £4500 is very reasonable. I would like you to build the deck. So if someone says you're too expensive (especially if it's for a custom job) remember that they are paying not only for the material and the work to be completed. They also pay for your: ✔️ Knowledge ✔️ Experience ✔️ Custom Skills ✔️ Tools ✔️ Time to plan ✔️ Time to prepare ✔️ Professionalism ✔️ Work Ethic ✔️ Excellence ✔️ Discipline ✔️ Commitment ✔️ Integrity ✔️ Taxes ✔️ Licenses ✔️ Sacrifices ✔️ Liabilities ✔️ Insurance So never be afraid to charge what you're worth. And if they want to 'make it cheaper themselves' Let them! Lots of love Sue xxx

💁♀️What Does a Painting Contractor Do? 💁♂️Painting contractors do more than roll paint on your walls. Here are some tasks you can expect when hiring a contractor: ✅Moving furniture for access to the areas to be painted. ✅Coverage of all areas that will not be painted. ✅Surface preparation before painting. ✅Priming the surface (not always included in the base price). ✅Painting two coats of paint on walls and ceiling. ✅Painting the trim and molding. ✅Touch-ups of missed spots. ✅Cleanup and removal of tarps/drop cloths ✅Final inspection with foreman and homeowner. The benefit of hiring a professional is that they can get the job done fast and prepare and clean up after it is done. Don’t stress yourself😌🤔, Get a free estimate now at https://aapainting.ca

HR: I rejected a CV from a candidate twice. He applied for the third time, and I called him for an interview. And guess what? We offered him a role right after the interview. Now, a year later, he has become the Team Leader and is performing excellently. The lesson I learned from this: do not always judge a person solely based on their CV. Sometimes, they are more than that one-page profile. Give a chance to candidates; they have energy and ideas more than you can think of. We generally cover the following division's quantity takeoff. - House Estimate - Commercial Apartments/Suites Estimate - Detailed Drywall - Flooring - Interior/Exterior Wall Finishes (Paint/Wall Coverings) - Plumbing/Hydraulics (Piping/Fixtures/Fittings) - Mechanical /HVAC (Ducting/Fittings/Diffusers/Grilles/Units) - Electrical (Power/Lighting/Security) - Site work/Civil - Structural Concrete, Steel Reinforcement & Formwok (Footings/Beams/Columns/Slabs) - Masonry - Structural Steel - Wood Framing/Carpentry In Breakdown - Openings (Doors/Windows) - Landscaping Contact Information: 1. procurement@thequantumbuilders.com; 2. info@thequantumbuilders.com 3. 609-495-6472 Place your order and get desired results. Our goal: "A smile on a customer's face is the best compliment we can get"
