It’s official. My Coaching Apprenticeship journey is complete. When I received the End Point Assessment outcome today tears filled my eyes. It took me all afternoon for the news to sink in. It was quite a journey to get here, to say it was a bumpy ride would be an understatement. Going through the Functional Skills exams was agonising and time-consuming, but passing them gave me a great sense of achievement. When I changed jobs at the beginning of 2024 I thought I wouldn’t be able to continue on this apprenticeship journey. I said to myself “It would be a shame if I can’t finish, but it’s fine. What I learned so far cannot be taken away from me, I can and I will continue to learn and apply what I learned on the many other journeys I may take in the future.”. Fortunately, I could carry on. In the past 9 months I studied and revised at airports, listened to podcasts on the plane, I had Nancy Kline (her Time to Think) as my travel buddy on the train to Paris and back... my 2024 business trips would have been dry and boring without them (especially with the delays I experienced!). The EPA were hard, the wait for the results was gruelling but I made it here finally. I can now proudly say I am an accomplished coach. Was it worth it? Definitely. Would I do it if I knew it was going to be this hard? Undoubtedly. Would I recommend coaching to everyone I know? Absolutely. To me, coaching is not (only) a profession, it is an attitude, a chosen lifestyle. It is the most amazing thing I have learned in life. Thank you: Lola Brocklesby - Career Coach – for your support and guidance all the way, for being there through better and harder times; you keep me on the ground and have been a living model of a coach to me My awesome line manager, Joanne Pearson – for your support, your assurance, and your allowance for me to apply my learnings at work (and on you sometimes). My fellow learners in the two cohorts. Rollercoaster rides are more fun when we sweat and laugh together. Let’s keep #coaching!

Not using mentorship is the reason your not growing. I want to take a moment to give a huge shoutout to Kelli Parkins, who, yes, is officially my manager, but I’ve never seen her solely in that role. To me, she’s a mentor—an invaluable guide and supporter in my journey at OA Recruitment Solutions. 🙌 Mentorship is often undervalued in the business world, but it’s absolutely essential, especially for someone like me who chose the apprenticeship route over university. Here’s why: 💁♂️Face-to-Face Guidance: Unlike university lectures or online courses, an apprenticeship offers direct, face-to-face mentorship. Kelli has been there to provide real-time advice and feedback, something I couldn't get from just sitting behind a laptop. 🤝Building Relationships: Over a year has flown by, and one of the main reasons is the strong relationship we’ve built. It's based on trust, hard work, and mutual respect. Kelli’s mentorship has been pivotal in my growth, both professionally and personally. 🙌Practical Experience: The hands-on experience I’ve gained through this apprenticeship is priceless. Kelli has guided me through real business challenges, helping me develop skills that are crucial for my career. 🧠Support System: Having Kelli as a mentor means having continuous support. She’s always there to offer advice, cheer me on, and help me navigate the complexities of the business world. Mentorship like this is what makes an apprenticeship so much more valuable than traditional educational routes. It's not just about learning; it's about growing, evolving, and building a future with the guidance of someone who truly cares. Thank you, Kelli, for your unwavering support and for being more than just a manager. Your mentorship has been a cornerstone of my success so far, and I don’t take it for granted. Here’s to many more years of learning and growing together! 🌟💼 #Mentorship #Apprenticeship #CareerGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment
