If you’ve gotten promoted, how’d you get there?
It was a very cool experience judging The Stevie® Awards for the first time.
I reviewed and scored 60 submissions in sales categories and I'm glad I made the time to do it.
The individuals and teams that stood above the crowd, for me, really delivered in three key areas:
1️⃣ Innovation. Those submissions that earned 9s and 10s from me highlighted a truly innovative go-to-market approach. Some hit me like "well yeah, that's your job 🤷♂️". Top entries hit me like "Wow! Brilliant. That really changed the game."
2️⃣ A very hard market challenge. Those that I awarded top marks made clear what a difficult challenge they were up against. Fast-changing circumstances, complex and incomplete data, hard to reach buyers, powerful competitors and more.
3️⃣ Results. Some were truly eye-popping. Massive impact delivered, especially when compared to past performance and to market trends.
I learned, I was inspired, and I did my part to shine a light on those that are doing some exceptional work.
And as a bonus, if ever I'm writing submissions for awards – Stevies or anything else – I now know how to make ours stand out in really positive ways.

Feels like it was just yesterday taking this pic of Elise Muraca and Conan Gormley on their first day at Docebo 🤣🔫
Half a year later they’ve shed the “newbies” title and are leading the team in meetings booked this month 😎
While we’re celebrating their wins today, it wasn’t always happy days (as Conan would say).
It took a lot of trial and error, resilience, patience and trust that they would get to this point.
Things that stood out working closely with both of them:
-Connecting with top performers internally and finding out what’s working for them
-Asking every question possible (especially you Elise 😇) and being curious, challenging ways.
-Finding and testing their own style. We want reps with fresh perspectives and ideas so we can continue evolving our outreach.
-Asking for coaching. Credit to them they were open to any feedback and would pivot or adjust when needed.
Things move fast in sales, and I’m excited to see the wins our recent group of new hires will celebrate in a few months 💙
For now, Elise keep crushing it and Conan enjoy your well deserved time off 🇬🇧

Certainly, 2023 has been challenging personally and professionally but also a very rewarding year for me.
Reflecting on my first complete year at SpotOn, here are some key takeaways (still learning!):
-It's okay to professionally redefine yourself in the business environment: New country, position, industry. It doesn't matter the age, just the willingness to try.
-It's perfectly fine to seek help when things don't go as expected- Friends, Family, and colleagues can play a crucial role in helping regain focus.
-Pressure is inevitable, and it's part of the game. However, it should be balanced with moments of joy and laughter. Finding that equilibrium is key to sustainable success.

🌟 There is no “one right” path, only the path that feels right to you. Listen to yourself – what really matters to you, what excites you and gives you energy, what motivates you to keep going. Only then can your exceptional gifts and talents take you farther than what you thought was possible.
🏠 Own who you are and let that shine. We are who raised us, how we grew up, and our what has happened to us. But we are also everything we set our mind to. Mindset matters. We can practice authentic leadership every day in our personal and professional life by embracing our roots and origin stories and giving others permission to do the same.
💕 Be in the relationship and apprenticeship business. Don't let perfection and fear, be your enemy of progress. Your success isn't just about what you know—it's about who you know and how you grow.
