Underinsurance ……. on a Monday !?!? I know, just the word makes your eyes start to roll 🙄 That said, it is a problem for those buying cover due to the impact it has on a claim settlement - so it’s in everyone’s interests to get it right ……. Right? Well, yes BUT …. why are clients (policyholders) not rushing to increase their sums insured and could the insurance sector do better here? ❌Premiums are already too high ❌Increasing sums insured = even more premium! ❌Feels like an opportunity for them, not us … ❓What happens if I do, are there other benefits? ❓Would any future claims be “easier” to settle? All these questions are from the clients I have worked with - the main one being around cost 💷💷💷 So, is it beyond the realms of possibility for insurers and brokers to reflect any positive moves here in their premiums and commission? ✅ Maybe Insurers could offer reduced rates for these increased sums insured to reduce the impact on premiums? Has their “risk” really increased that much? ✅ Brokers could reduce their earnings on any additional premiums - commission free? Have they really done that much extra work to increase the sums insured? Now, if this is such a concern to brokers and insurers (as mentioned in this article) then why not go further than just intel, AI tools and case studies ….. 📣 REDUCE THE PREMIUM 📣 Just a thought 🤔… #mhallm #thepower5 #clientsfirst #dotherightthing #insurance

Did you catch up on this week's episode with Bob Paskins on Friday, 2/16? I've encountered people who've tried a product twice and gave up because it didn't work. Perhaps they abandoned it too soon without effectively utilizing the material. It's essential to find the right methodology for research, as we both agree that research is crucial. As LSM knows, attracting, nurturing and retaining talent is of paramount importance for businesses in our industry. Being a great place to work – and communicating this widely – can be a huge competitive advantage for those who want to secure the best talent. But what, according to London Market underwriters and claims professionals, makes an insurer stand out for having a strong employer brand – that is, one that puts them in the best position to attract and retain top talent? Gracechurch’s 2023 Employer Brand Monitor points to a number of key factors: alongside pay, company culture, the people and team and opportunities for career development are all key to attracting the best talent, and signal to the talent pool that your company is a good place to work. Company culture can mean many things: it could be having a supportive atmosphere, making sure that senior staff pass on their knowledge to others on their team, or protecting work-life balance.
