In some cases, due to misunderstandings or confusion about the job role, the interview panel may ask questions primarily related to a different field or technology not mentioned in the required skills section of the JD. If a candidate is rejected because of this misalignment, 𝙞𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙪𝙣𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙮 𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢, preventing them from reapplying for the role until the cool-off period ends (which could range from 6 months to 1 year). 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: If a candidate escalates this issue with HR, and it’s evident that the interview process deviated from the required skills outlined in the JD, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 as part of their interview process. Since many interviews are recorded, this verification can be done by reviewing the interview to ensure fairness. The rejection should not apply if the interview did not properly reflect the role’s actual requirements. Candidates invest significant time and effort into preparing for roles, and such a scenario can lead to unnecessary delays in their career progression through no fault of their own. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙚𝙬 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 and give candidates the opportunity they deserve based on the role’s actual requirements.
