13-152-4 That's the record of Lewis van Poetsch, a Bristol boxer who's been called Britain's worst. 13 wins. 152 losses. 4 draws. Yup, he's a perpetual loser. But the numbers don't tell you everything. Because Lewis fought in Afghanistan and held down day jobs as a barber and engineer. And has always been ready to travel anywhere in the country, to fight at a moment's notice. To face dangerous up and coming fighters, giving them valuable rounds as they climb the rankings. And in 169 fights, he's never been knocked out. Every boxer wants to be a winner. Some believe they'll be a champion. But none set out to be a journeyman. Yet journeymen have been catalysts in the careers of tons of legendary fighters. To anyone outside the sport, they're ridiculous. Not glamorous. Not wealthy. Certainly not LinkedInspirational. But they're always worth a second look. Because journeymen get up every time they're knocked down. And keep stepping through those ropes. Even after they realise it's their job to lose. It sounds crazy. But they do it because fighting's in their blood. See, being a journeyman is about something bigger and better than winning or losing. It's about loving the game so much, you never give up. So all hail the journeymen (and journeywomen). Always around. Always ready. Always more dangerous than they look. #boxing #SalesAndMarketing #storytelling

Executive Director at PRS Recruitment Services, Specialist in the Recruitment with the Built space environment, Facilities Management, support services, property, data centre, hospitality recruitment
Navigating the skies with precision and pride, the Red Arrows have long been a symbol of British excellence. As a seasoned professional in the recruitment sector, I've always been fascinated by the parallels between their displays and the meticulous coordination required in building successful teams. Just as each Red Arrow pilot must trust in the expertise and commitment of their colleagues, so too must we place confidence in the talents and dedication of those we work alongside in our industries. Whether in engineering, where my roots lie, or in the strategic assembly of a top-tier recruitment firm, the core principles of teamwork, precision, and excellence remain the same. The Red Arrows' displays, much like the meticulous planning behind a successful Caterham 7 race day, remind us that every role is critical, every manoeuvre calculated, and every outcome a testament to the collective effort. It's this synergy that drives success, whether soaring above crowds or steering a company to new heights. As we look ahead to the Euros 2024 and the Olympics 2024, let's draw inspiration from the Red Arrows' displays of teamwork and strive for that level of excellence in our own fields. After all, it's the seamless integration of individual strengths that creates an unbeatable team, both in the air and on the ground. #Teamwork #Excellence #RedArrows

Income Development | F&I Training | Reinsurance Solutions | Employee Development | Performance Management | Corporate Strategy
You can’t expect more when you keep settling for less. One of my favorite all-time quotes is from a Navy Seal who said, "Under pressure, you don’t rise to the occasion, you sink to the level of your training.” This is an accurate description whether you are in the military, a professional athlete, or a F&I Manager. The F&I Department continues to be under an enormous amount of pressure as the automotive landscape continues to change. Many dealers are not getting the required training that is essential to develop teams of top-level performers. Some of this is attributed to a growing number of M&A deals where the acquiring company is more focused on top-line revenue and the servicing of existing stores is no longer a priority. As a result, dealers are seeing declining profit margins, higher employee turnover, and lower CSI scores while the company continues to be paid a commission despite not having the same vested interest in their success. Call me at 614-599-1282 or message me if the company you are doing business with has forgotten that being a trusted partner in your store is a privilege and must be continually earned.

A powerful mindset to take into 2024
Isn’t this reply to a reporter from Aston Villa manager Unai Emery just brilliant. 👇 He’s asked a question about a narrow defeat to Manchester United, and immediately answers - with a huge smile - about the bigger picture. The fact his team have 39 points and are exceeding all expectations. In 2024 be a bit more Unai. Instead of focussing on the small setbacks, see how well you are doing overall. Keep that smile there. Life is set up to encourage us to focus on the fails, and that has its merits, but remember to also congratulate yourself for all the things you get right. I guarantee you are getting more wins than losses over a year, make 2024 the year you spot them, and congratulate yourself. In 2023 I was awful at this. I will let you know how I fare this year xxx

Standout golfers who aren’t quite PGA TOUR material now have somewhere else to play professionally: Corporate America. People who can smash 300-yard drives and sink birdie putts are sought-after hires in #finance, #consulting, #sales and other industries, recruiters say. In the #hybrid work era, the business #golf outing is back in a big way. Executive #recruiter Shawn Cole says he gets so many requests to find ace golfers that he records candidates’ handicaps, an index based on average number of strokes over par, in the information packets he submits to clients. Golf alone can’t get you a plum job, he says—but not playing could cost you one. Tee times and #networking sessions have long gone hand-in-golf-glove. Despite criticism that doing business on the course undermines #diversity, equity and inclusion efforts—and the fact that golf clubs haven’t always been open to women and minorities—people who mix golf and work say the outings are one of the last reprieves from 30-minute calendar blocks. How does the golf course play into your business? ⛳ Read more from Callum Borchers: https://lnkd.in/e9M9rb-9
