October marks #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, a type of cancer affecting 1 in 11 women in Europe. At #DaiichiSankyoEurope, we think listening to patient stories is vital to raise awareness and educate about breast cancer. Earlier this year, we hosted a lecture by Eva Schumacher-Wulf, a professional journalist and longtime breast cancer patient and advocate to share her experience. Did you know that breast cancer has a 99% cure rate when detected early? Estipona Group collaborated with the Nevada Cancer Coalition, to craft a comprehensive web experience to educate Black women about breast cancer and encourage mammograms. Compared to other groups, Black women are at an increased risk for more aggressive forms of breast cancer which can be harder to treat. In 2024, more than 360,000 people are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer. However, there’s hope on the horizon. Advances in early detection and support are boosting survival rates. When breast cancer is caught early, in localized stages, the 5-year relative survival rate reaches an impressive 99%.   To ensure that everyone has access to early detection, we need to take action. The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is dedicated to Helping Women Now®.
