How do we prevent #dialysis patients in our hospitals from contracting a virus through airborne pathogen transmission? This was the question faced by Saint-Louis Hospital - APHP in Paris, after finding that virus particles circulated between dialysis sessions during the day, despite bio-cleaning. They reached out to Dassault Systèmes to carry out an #airflow #simulation study. Merging the physical and virtual worlds, Dassault Systèmes’ team used the #3DEXPERIENCE platform on cloud to create a full-scale #virtual twin of the dialysis room and simulate particle contamination. The results revealed the unseen and let the team identify the trajectory of particle emissions in a variety of scenarios. The hospital then took action that led to a normalization of virological results and made the environment safer for patients.
