Listening to the sound of silence – how saying nothing means saying more. Does face to face therapy offer any advantages over on-line therapy? Which do you prefer? Does accessibility, flexibility and convenience have the edge for you? Or does that mean something gets missed out? #facetoface #telehealth #therapy
Faulty connection – or the real sound of silence – where face-to-face scores over online therapy Are you thinking about therapy and wondering about whether to opt for online or face to face? Apparently 60% clients opt for online therapy presumably because it offers accessibility, flexibility and convenience. But are they missing out? I’m in the 92% therapists who offer both online and face to face. I’ve had some lovely opportunities to work with people where it just wouldn’t be possible without the move towards telehealth. And I feel strongly that good therapeutic connections can be made over zoom. But does face to face have the edge? One obvious area of benefit is the natural lull in conversation. In face-to-face work, the silences just feels more productive. It’s easier to sense each other’s presence and energy, catch the other’s emotions when you’re sat in a room together. Silence can speak loudly. Perhaps it’s reassuringly companionable as you start on a journey together. Sometimes its laden with sadness. At other times it may be brimming over with anger. With silence there are endless possibilities which just don’t quite spring up the same way via a screen. As a sensorimotor psychotherapist I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about the pros and cons of both online and face to face therapy. You can read more about them via this link and if you’re curious about what might work for you, feel free to get in touch. https://lnkd.in/dt48EjUf #therapy #facetoface

Let’s be honest, traditional therapy appointments can feel like a hassle. Squeezing them into your busy schedule, fighting traffic, and then the dreaded waiting room – filled with awkward small talk and nervous energy! Virtual appointments throw all that out the window. Imagine this: you avoid the commute entirely, settle into your own comfortable space (think cozy PJs!), and hop right into your session feeling relaxed and ready to focus. No more waiting rooms, no more feeling like you’re on display. Virtual therapy offers a safe, convenient space to connect with your therapist. Plus, it can be a great option for people with busy schedules, limited mobility, or even social anxiety. Ready to experience the benefits of virtual therapy? We offer flexible scheduling and a comfortable, confidential environment for your sessions. Contact us today to learn more!
