The freedom of choice. The flexibility to decide one's own schedule. The dream of running your own business. These are the stakes as the U.S. Department of Labor implements a new independent contractor classification rule. Please help share Dee, Brian and Gary's stories as we work to defeat this un-American attack on the independent contractor business model. Thank you to Scopelitis Law Firm for their support. #trucking #truckers #truckingindustry

The media is full of reports on how the trucking sector impacts the economy because it moves over 70% of all commodities in the US and is responsible for the shortage of goods on the shelves of supermarkets and big box stores. Unless the country pays more attention to the healthcare of this critical sector of the economy then expect inflation to go through the roof. A starting point is to provide truck drivers with a first class healthcare service. The nature of their job traversing interstates makes it very difficult for them to have access to healthcare when they need it. One company VK Digital Health (vkdigitalhealth.com) has an eloquent solution which is to move drivers healthcare facilities to Truckstops where they all have to visit at least once per day. The pictured solution is a customized 40ft shipping container with 5 Smart Medical Chair cubicles connected by satellite to one of several hospital based Medical Call Centers staffed by Nurse Practitioners and specialists in many disciplines who can use the multiple FDA approved vital signs instruments embedded in each chair to conduct a thorough tele-triage meaning real patient data even a 12 lead EKG; and all without a doctor present on site.

We all have different ends but we shouldn’t be forced into what people from a office space think is right for how we choose to support our families we’re supposed to be living in a country that has freedom of choice I CHOOSE THIS PATH AND I LOVE IT AND WOULD START IT ALL OVER AGAIN

More than 350,000 truckers across the country currently choose to work as independent contractors because of the flexibility and freedom it provides. So glad American Trucking Associations is bringing attention to this important issue.

Dee Sova’s voice matters. Brian Sheehan’s voice matters. Gary Martin’s voice matters. The Department of Labor’s patronizing new rule is a blatant attempt to silence these important voices, but the American Trucking Associations will always stand up and fight back for independent contractors.

I have owned and operated my freight and cargo inspection service out of my home office for Ten years. I drive 30K miles a year. During COVID HLS asked me to keep my business up and running so as to keep freight moving. Unions and their politicians butt out.

National Truck Protection fully supports the freedom to operate an independent trucking contractor, and the opportunity to build a successful business in one of America’s greatest industries, trucking. Good job ATA.
