"94% of women that have ascended to the C-Suite, played sport." Listen to Sarah Francis discuss the power of keeping and encouraging girls and kids to start or continue their journeys in sport, no matter the level, with Sandra L. Richards and Laxmi Poruri. Did you play sports growing up? We'd love to hear what lessons you've carried with you, or thoughts around the ways that may have influenced your professional career. #BeUnlimited #AUSummit24

Played D1 collegiate tennis in the Big 10 Conference. Teamwork…Leadership…Assertiveness…Failure. Playing tennis was a microcosm of the real world. I apply everything I learned from the sport in my professional career and don’t think I would be where I am today professionally without the lessons I learned as an athlete. I am forever grateful to my parents, coaches, and teammates throughout my tennis journey.

Played softball growing up, and have since coached Little League as well. Though I had a relatively disappointing exit from the sport myself, I still love it. It taught me leadership and confidence. I was the shyest kid in the world before I played sports. Only child at the time, and hated leaving my family's side. I was terrified of new people and new things. Sports helped me grow out of that and eventually helped me find a voice. But nothing has inspired me or taught me more than coaching kids. Now, I work in youth sports and absolutely love making a difference in the lives of other young athletes!

Would love to see corporate America shift to support more employees to coach. I’ve got some great leaders who suport my passion, but not every leader gets it. Sports was such an critical development opportunity for me and a safe space, so I love being able to share my love for the game with other young girls!
