December: Week 1 We’ve been fortunate to experience pretty mild weather throughout the Chicago region, but this week I definitely needed to wear my winter coat into my on-site visits! 🥶 The sudden change made me think about how important it is to be proactive and plan ahead for any unexpected disruptions that could come as we head into the heart of the season! ▫️ Monitor snow, ice, and freezing temperatures to adjust plans for road closures, delays, and shortened hours. ▫️ Plan for disruptions and identify backup suppliers or solutions like expedited shipping to stay ahead of storms. ▫️ Winterize facilities by checking heating systems and clearing ice and snow from loading docks. ▫️ Keep all stakeholders informed with regular updates on weather, delivery timelines, and potential disruptions. … and … If you’re the one out on the roads: ▫️Have a thick blanket (or two), cold weather gear (gloves, hats, scarfs, face shields, boots), ice scraper, and a phone charger in your vehicle at all times. ▫️Share your phone’s location with at least one trusted individual at all times. In case something happens or your phone dies, that person will have access to your last known location and can send help. ❄️Winter is Coming❄️ #womeninlogistics #womeninsupplychain #winterlogistics #shippingsolutions
