**Did You Know?!?**Martin Luther King Jr.'s deep-rooted mark on civil rights is widely recognized, but his influence on health care and science, particularly in Alabama and Birmingham, has been equally transformative. Birmingham was a focal point for King's activism during the turbulent times of the Civil Rights Movement. Birmingham underwent a shift due to efforts by King and other local civil rights heroes like Rev. Fred Shuttlesworth. King's unwavering dedication to justice and equality resonated deeply in the hearts of Alabamians, sparking a ripple effect that transcended into the realm of patient care and science. As he said at a convention of the Medical Committee for Human Rights in March 1966 in Chicago, “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.” Decades after his passing, King's impact continues to shape the southern landscape in Alabama and beyond of health equity. “Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane.” In these words from Martin Luther King Jr., I find hope and resolve. Hope, because of the significant progress we’ve made since his time. Resolve, because of the continued work we must do to overcome health disparities and advance equity for marginalized groups. Black patients living with #SickleCellDisease make up one such community that I am especially close to – a group of people who have long faced unique health inequities. They are the “why” behind my continued collaboration with Pfizer in helping bring sickle cell disease treatments to even more patients in need. Our work in this area is not just a commitment – it is a deep-rooted purpose that drives us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of people grappling with health challenges. Ongoing research, advancement of life-changing therapies, and advocacy for improved access to care all play an essential role in advancing the quality of care for this population as we strive toward a future where healthcare injustice is a thing of the past. #NationalMinorityHealthMonth #HealthEquity

In my TEDx interview, I shared my journey in founding Multigen Home, stemming from personal experiences with multi-generational living after a challenging relocation to California and confronting my father's Alzheimer's. Inspired by multi-generational practices abroad and the lack of U.S. incentives for such living arrangements, I aimed to promote the concept to benefit families and reduce healthcare burdens. As Multigen Home's founder, I discussed our work in assisting families transition to living together through home modifications, financial advice, and fostering healthy family dynamics.
