This May is Mental Health Awareness Month. To help spread awareness, the Atlanta Mission team hit Piedmont Park recently to educate the community on the connection between mental health and homelessness. Homelessness, like mental health, isn’t easily identifiable – as appearances can often deceive. This week, we are hosting our very own #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Follow along as we explore the relationship between mental health and homelessness. Interested in joining us for this #InvisibleMission? Go to https://lnkd.in/eT8fME8M to learn more.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we highlight the importance of mental health for all. For many, overcoming homelessness starts with addressing mental health challenges that block stability and recovery. Through the SDS Supportive Housing Fund, we invest in transformative supportive housing solutions, but we know that a home is just one piece of the puzzle. That’s why we partner with organizations like HOPICS and The People Concern to provide mental health counseling, addiction recovery programs, and financial literacy services—giving our tenants the tools to regain control of their lives and thrive. Let’s continue raising awareness about the role of mental health in breaking the cycle of homelessness and creating lasting change in our communities! #SDSCapitalGroup #HomelessCrisis #WorldMentalHealthDay #PermanentSupportiveHousing #SocialImpact #ImpactInvesting

🌱 💚 As we reflect on Mental Health Awareness Month, we understand there is a profound connection between mental health and homelessness. Mental health challenges are both a cause and consequence of homelessness, creating a cycle that can be hard to break without the right support. At HOME, we understand securing a roof is just the first step. Our clients at times also need comprehensive mental health support to rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience. This month, we pledge to advocate for policies that address these interconnected issues 🧠 🏠 Join us in spreading awareness, and checking in on your friends and family. Together, we can work towards solutions that not only find homes for those in need, but also provide them with the support essential for true healing and independence 💖 #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #EndHomelessness #SupportSystem

🌟 At Fred Victor, we recognize that mental health challenges can lead to or perpetuate homelessness. Individuals facing mental health issues are more vulnerable to poverty, isolation, and personal challenges, increasing their risk of homelessness. 💚 Mental Health Week is a crucial reminder of the importance of mental health for everyone's well-being. It highlights the challenges faced by those struggling with mental health issues and emphasizes the need for compassionate support. This year's theme, "Healing Through Compassion," aligns perfectly with our approach – compassion is at the heart of everything we do. 🤝 That's why our dedicated staff leads with compassion through our support and outreach services, empowering people facing severe mental health challenges to live dignified and fulfilling lives. Join us in spreading awareness and supporting those who need it most. #MentalHealthWeek #HealingThroughCompassion #CompassionConnects

This week is #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek. Mental health problems and homelessness can create a cycle that can feel impossible to break. Over 60% of our clients experience mental health problems, either due to homelessness or as a contributing factor that led to their homelessness. Our teams work closely with our clients, giving them the space and time to talk, helping to build trust and connections, and to find better ways to cope with what they are feeling. #Homelessness is an experience, not a forever. With the right support, it can be ended. #MHAW2024 #MHAW24 #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #HomelessnessAwareness #HomelessnessAwareness2024 #MentalHealth #MentalHealthMatters

Friendship is a superpower! 💪❤️ During #RecoveryMonth and beyond, reach out to a friend in recovery and invite them to join you in activities that support their recovery journey. Why community matters in recovery: 🌱 Support: Recovery is more manageable when people accept and encourage us to grow. 🤝 Connection: Family, friends, peers, and others are crucial in providing the emotional and practical support needed for recovery. 👬 Inclusion: Social inclusion is key to long-term recovery. Surrounding yourself with a caring community can help you feel understood, valued, and empowered. Remember: We're in this together. Learn more from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) here about how, together, we can make long-term recovery a reality: https://bit.ly/45sALvQ
