Hey lads and ladies! Accountability Check - Week #1 Exactly 9 days ago, I committed to giving weekly updates on my progress, and here it is! First of all, it took 9 days instead of 7 because, over the past 2 days, something very interesting was happening. I can't wait to share that update with you all in the future. So let's start, here are my activities of the week (I wouldn't call them accomplishments, but it is what it is, no?): - Made significant progress in my certification journey. - Got into buildspace Nights and Weekends S5, and it has been an incredible journey. - Explored my first idea, LangLink, and started working on it. It's a long shot, but I'll make sure it's worth it. - Made my first international friend (+ accountability buddy), thanks to Farza Majeed for Sage. It's the best platform for connecting with like-minded people and collaborating on very cool ideas. - Learned about systems and their importance in our lives. As the saying goes, "You don't rise to your goals but fall to your system." I'm trying to find the best one that fits my way of doing things. - Worked extensively on my communication skills. Shoutout to Vinh Giang, the best in the game of communication. - Started working part-time as a technical analyst with Dream Consultants, and it's been pretty good so far. - Cooked up 2 ideas back-to-back, and they are going to be amazing when they come to life, I swear. Was great to spend a few hours talking to a cool and diverse bunch of NextWork ers last night, talking about learning software skills and then how to go and use them to get a job! I hope it was useful for the team, I think Amber and the Nextwork team are doing great work - building both a platform for learning as well as a community to support that process. It’s easy to start learning online. It’s much harder to stick to your goals that you have when you start, especially when you’re also juggling studies or part time work or parenting or all of those things together! The community aspect of what you’re doing is awesome, all the NWers spoke highly of the great work that Emelie Verseput is doing in order to provide that personal support. Was great to see and hear what people like Alice kim was doing building her ‘brag book’ of sites she’s building in React and how she might use AWS Textract for her next project :) or Joseph Johnson moving from intern to perm managing Azure infra. Or Akiko I. with her Salesforce learning. Or Joseph Chang and his work at Mission Ready. Or Chris Kyle and how he’s still cheffing around Auckland while he also upskills in technology. And other cool stories too! Great work team, learning and jobs are hard right now but sticking to your goals with support from your peers and your learning platform is key!

In 2022 I played it safe, didn’t challenge myself and got stuck. I had to change or nothing would change. So, 2023 became My Year of First Times. Here's how it went ⤵ → First time hiring a CEO to run the business I founded → First time doing a 10 min on-stage speech, no notes → First time setting up a 2nd, 3rd and 4th business → First time truly embracing how my brain works → First time being “grilled” by a News Presenter → First time leveraging the power of timezones → First time working for 10 Founders for Free → First time “leaving” LinkedIn for months → First time hosting a big branded event → First time taking 6+ month sabbatical → First time being unapologetically me I'm taking a moment to put on record that I'm a teeny tiny bit proud of myself. Here's to making our 2024 "First Times" list even longer 😃

We must top last year's!"   𝙃𝙍 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙧 (daaamnn … and now, what to do now? Better than last year? How?!) "Hmm, how about we start the day with a dynamic workshop on time management and expectations, in partnership with GALILEU - Focus on Success?"   𝘾𝙀𝙊: "Excellent! And for lunch, nothing better than pizza to keep the mood relaxed! But we need more! Much more!"   𝙃𝙍 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙧 (it's not even Halloween and I feel like I'm in a horror movie! More? After all the amazing activities we've had throughout the year? I need time...) I've got some great ideas! Don't worry, deadline in two days?   And so it was, I had just two days to plan the kick-off with all the tools our employees needed.   𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟭: Turn off Skype notifications 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮: Make a to do list 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟯: Find out from all the team leaders what the needs were   Until … 𝙀𝙐𝙍𝙀𝙆𝘼!!! Hackathons to stimulate creativity, how did I not think of this before? 🤦♀️   𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟰: Organize the hackathons   2 days passed ... 𝘬𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘧𝘧 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘥 ... now all that's missing is the worst part ... making sure the day goes off without a hitch!   Want to see what happened? We had a few minutes to sit down with Timothy (Who goes by Ramsey) to discuss what he is passionate about in the workplace: 1) What has been your favorite project you worked on at Elevator3? Why? My favorite project at Elevator3 has been Lumato because I have gotten the chance to work on new features I couldn't do on other projects, and I get to research and explore the best methods to implement them. 2) What would you tell a young person wanting to enter the technology workspace? Always remember that growth can only happen outside of your comfort zone. Don't be afraid to learn something new, no matter how complex and scary it may seem. 3) What piece of advice would you offer businesses to be successful in the ever-changing technology space? It's important to realize that developers are passionate about delivering great products in ways that meet your expectations and can facilitate future growth. Be sure to give them the time and resources to create software you can both be proud of. 4) It's been a year since you graduated from college; what was it like transitioning from intern to employee at E3? I'm working on the same projects I worked on as an intern, but I'm a lead developer now and have many more responsibilities. It used to scare me until I learned to trust myself to get things done and trust my team to help me through the difficulties. 5) As a remote employee, how do you stay connected with your E3 co-workers? I like to message my fellow developers whenever I discover a new feature in our tech stack or when I create something cool on a project. How my script was flipped between 2020 and 2024. 2020 Me: Stuck in the corporate maze, thanks to an acquihire. Begging overworked devs for favors they couldn’t squeeze in. Politics over coffee, and not the fun kind. “Enjoying” work trips that felt more like detours. 2024 Me: Connecting with brilliant people globally on innovative projects. Leading a dream team of 80+ amazing individuals, each a legend in their own right. Crafting not just projects but meaningful, lifelong bonds in my industry. Home in time to be the bedtime story hero. The Glow-Up: Four years. That’s all it took to flip the script. From navigating the corporate labyrinth to meeting brilliant minds, building a powerhouse team, and making irreplaceable friends in the trenches of an industry I’m all in on. Here’s to life's journey and how fast and unexpectedly it can turn!

How was my first week at BASSnet, I asked myself? It was an enlightening blend of technical insights and team bonding. (For those curious about the details, here’s a deeper dive.) Day One greeted me with the source code and a comprehensive wiki maintained by my team. It was inspiring, yet daunting. I questioned, “Am I learning too late?” However, the reassuring thought prevailed: it’s never too late to start. Day Two challenged my progress on the probation project. It was a moment of introspection, recalling past triumphs in skill mastery to restore my shaken confidence. Despite initial efforts with layouts, lazy loading, and file structures setup aimed at aligning with the main source code standards, I realized my approach to module locations was flawed, making the day’s efforts seem misdirected. Day Three brought a realization that I had been overly harsh on myself. Rectifying the previous day’s direction proved less time-consuming than feared. This pivot led to significant progress, making the day remarkably productive and effective—a feeling I cherished. Day Four saw the submission of my project and the valuable feedbacks from RK, along with requests for additional features and enhancements. Continuing with RK’s requests on Day Five solidified the week’s learning experience. Overall, adapting to the new environment, culture, and technical standards at BASS, coupled with lunches and conversations with RK, Oksi, Ghafur, Alicia, Adrien, and Elvis, has been enriching. Each member’s unique perspective adds to the collective wisdom I’m eager to tap into further. Looking back at my first week at BASSnet, I’ve learned a lot and met some great people. It wasn’t just about the work; it was also about fitting in with the team and learning from everything around me. I’ve seen that even when things get tough, there’s always a way to make them better. I’m really excited for what’s coming next. I want to do more good work, get to know my teammates better, and become a part of this place. Every day feels like a chance to grow and get a bit better at what I do. Thanks to everyone who made my first week so welcoming. 🙂 Here’s to more learning and growing at BASSnet!

We had a few minutes to sit down with Logan and ask him about what he is passionate about: ➀ What has been your favorite project you worked on at Elevator3? Why? Choosing a favorite is challenging because each project offers unique problems to tackle, and the solutions are always rewarding. However, if I had to select one, I'd lean towards the recent project where I developed a custom calendar to view and manage shifts for Noma. This project resonated mainly because of my scheduling and human resources background. Implementing features I had always wished for as a user was immensely satisfying. ② What would you tell a young person wanting to enter the technology workspace? Always remain curious about what you don’t know and stay humble about what you think you do. The tech industry is perpetually advancing. While this can initially seem overwhelming, the joy of learning something new every day is unparalleled. One of the aspects I cherish about consulting is that each day presents a unique learning opportunity, be it grasping the nuances of a client's business or understanding a novel piece of technology. ③ What advice would you offer businesses to succeed in the ever-changing technology space? The nature of problems that technology can address has remained relatively stable over time. If your business consistently spends time on repetitive tasks, there's a high likelihood that those tasks can be automated. While automation methods might evolve, the first step is consistently identifying such tasks. ④ What was it like transitioning from intern to employee at E3? The experience was truly remarkable. The significance of advancing in a career you're passionate about within an organization is monumental. While I cherished my time at Southeastern, transitioning from doing what I loved part-time to full-time was exhilarating. ⑤ What has been your proudest moment at E3, whether related to a project or not? My proudest moment was delegating a project to a newer developer I mentored. Observing her excel in implementing her initial standalone features and adeptly liaising with clients was an absolute delight. ⑥ You moved to Shreveport after college. How do you stay connected with your E3 co-workers?
