Mission-1 Update 6

  • On March 21, Atomos established communications over our high bandwidth AddValue IDRS radio. In the first five minutes of connection, we received 17X more data than we had since launching earlier this month. We have maintained communication with the spacecraft since, sending updates and downloading files. We will continue through propulsion system commissioning and soon move on to our rendezvous demonstration. While we have previously demonstrated our final approach guidance algorithms using our ground-based rendezvous testbed, we are eager to prove out this capability on orbit.

Space is not for the faint hearted. The thought of not being able to solve the problem in situ when it happens is unnerving. It requires comprehensive scenarios planning and “what-if”counter-measures before launch. But there is only so much one can plan. When facing a crisis, it takes the ingenuity, courage , encouragement, and collectiveness of the entire team to resolve. This is what the young and talented team at Atomos has demonstrated. Success is much savoured if it is preceded by some agonising moments of facing failures. Cannot be any prouder of what you have accomplished, we at Addvalue stands ready to support your mission to a complete success.

Can you repost the series of mission updates and or a link to a public website where we can also follow progress. This is great transparency into the the finer details of mission monitoring.
