INJECTION PROCESS OPTIMIZATION Awesome result last week providing support to one of the top Western European plastic processors, optimizing their injection process. The outcome was: - Energy savings: 10% ⚡ - Cycle time savings: 13% 🚀 As the typical energy use for the injection area is 50% to 70% of the total, this will potentially provide a saving of 5% to 7% of the total energy cost. 🚀 #Siemens and #BASF are driving #sustainable #circular economy! 🌍 Together we presented the first electrical safety product that includes components made from #biomass-balanced plastics. The Siemens SIRIUS 3RV2 circuit breaker now uses Ultramid® BMBcertTM and Ultradur® BMBcertTM from BASF, replacing fossil feedstock at the beginning of the value chain with biomethane derived from #renewable sources such as agricultural waste.🌱 Thanks to this material changeover, around 270 tons of CO2 equivalents will be saved annually. IFAT 2024: iCycle-Pyrolysis - conversion of polymers into oil, gas and solids The iCycle® pyrolysis system processes difficult-to-recycle waste streams containing plastics, for example packaging waste, composite materials or shredder fractions (WEEE, automotive). The plastics are converted to pyrolysis oil and gas, which can be upgraded to base chemicals or used as an energy source.
