A senior engineer is the smartest engineer in a room of engineers. A staff engineer is a representative engineer on a council full of engineers smarter than them. A principal engineer is the only engineer in a room full of executives. If you're looking to advance, stop trying to be the smartest person in the room. Instead, think about what you can bring to a room filled with people who know things that you don't. (And consider that part of what you bring should be humility.)

Really enjoyed reading this one 👇 Especially in our SAP community the roles of Engineering Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, and particularly the Staff Engineer is rather difficult to grasp. If you are curious about these roles, then I highly suggest to read Alex Ewerlöf’s blog post. And yes, I have seen the great stuff good staff engineers can do, it is a role many ERP implementations and transformations need. I consider it some sort of mix between Engineer, Architect. and Project Manager with focus on Dev, Ops, and whatever Xyz you might add to that. My elevator pitch usually goes something like this: ”A staff engineer is someone who solves complex engineering challenges and helps get them done”. #productorganisation #productmodel #staffengineer #devops

Can you help a lead engineer out? They are looking to become an Engineering Manager. Their current company has engineering managers but they aren’t technical, so they would be the first. They need to write. • A job description • Progression Framework • Goals • What good and great looks like I’m looking to connect them with Engineering Managers, Heads of Engineering, Directors of Engineering and CTOs. Comment or DM me if you could help. #softwareengineering #softwaredevelopment #careerprogression

What levels of engineers are on your team? 🤔 • An okay engineer does what's asked. • A good engineer nails what's asked. • A great engineer nails it and catches potential problems. • An awesome engineer does all that, spots hidden issues, and anticipates future challenges you haven’t thought of.

🌟 **Happy Engineer's Day to all the innovators, problem solvers, and creators!** 🌟 Today, we honor the brilliant minds that have shaped and continue to shape the world with their innovation, passion, and dedication. Engineers are the architects of progress, driving humanity forward with every groundbreaking solution, product, and idea. From cutting-edge technology to infrastructure that connects communities, engineers are at the core of every significant advancement. However, beyond innovation and technical expertise, being an engineer means something more—it means taking responsibility for **contributing to society**. Our work has the power to solve pressing global challenges, from sustainable energy and clean water to healthcare and accessible education. It’s not just about solving problems or creating efficient systems, but about **making the world a better place for everyone**. As engineers, we have a unique opportunity to shape the future and leave a positive legacy. Let’s challenge ourselves to think beyond the traditional boundaries of engineering. Let’s invent with a purpose, innovate with compassion, and design with the aim to uplift society. 🚀 **The true mark of an engineer isn’t just in what we build, but in the positive change we create**. Let’s commit to using our skills and knowledge to tackle the most pressing issues of our time and build a future that serves humanity and the planet. Here’s to all the engineers who are not just building, but building **for a better world**. Keep inspiring, keep innovating, and never stop dreaming big!

Hardware engineering leaders! To create a livable planet for our children we must scale negative emissions technologies to twice the size of the oil industry....in just 26 years. Charm Industrial is one of the first companies to prove this technology works. We now need you to scale it. Learn more in the comments - please share with your network to help Charm scale! #hiring #carbonremoval #engineering
This is a first look at our pyrolyzer operations in Colorado! Super proud to be scaling up carbon removal operations. And in fact, this picture is a few weeks out of date, which means we've already **tripled** the number of pyrolyzers online. The next stage of scale-up is to 10x the throughput of our pyrolyzers by making them bigger. This is well underway, and we're looking for an engineering manager (link in comments) to have incredible impact and lead this next-generation pyrolyzer team. You also get to work for one of the most resourceful and high-clarity engineering leaders I've ever met (Grace Connors) and an incredible team of peers.

So, here's a thing, if you're a service manager in floor care or powered access and find that you're having to replace your hire fleet batteries every 6 months, why are you? More often than not it's due to the batteries you currently use not being "right for the job". So, what do you do? I suppose you could carry on doing what you've always done and get the results you've always got and to be fair that's the easy option, although your departmental costs will just keep rising. What about if you had the opportunity to use a battery that is right for the job (and trust me your competitors are!)? Our QUASAR batteries really are right for the job and worth a Tri and here's why - they will save you time, money and engineering resources and it's that simple. Tri them, Tri me and Tri athlon Battery Solutions 😋
