Many of us have experienced moments where our mental models—the frameworks through which we understand and interpret the world—don't align with reality. There is a story of a father and his unusually noisy children. Everyone within earshot felt irritated until they found out these kids had just lost their mother. “Those brats are awful” gave way to compassionate understanding that the noise was part of not knowing how to deal with such a loss. The gap between expectation and reality can be disconcerting, causing us to scrutinize our perceptions more closely. As we do, the inconsistencies become more apparent, and our confidence in these models diminishes. This gap, though uncomfortable, compels us to explore it further. On one side of this gap lie our perceptions and interpretations, which form the foundation of our mindsets. These mindsets or models of the world are only as robust as their weakest components. The advantage is that we have the ability to revise or completely abandon these flawed models. Recognizing and adjusting our world views is a crucial step in personal growth. When we encounter new information that challenges our current beliefs, it’s an opportunity to reassess and potentially adopt a more accurate or beneficial perspective. This process of unlearning old models and embracing new ones can be daunting but is ultimately rewarding. Creating a "better" model of understanding requires crossing the gap from our current sense of reality. Once we make this leap, new learning often follows swiftly, akin to a series of aftershocks following an earthquake. Each paradigm shift, whether in personal belief or within a broader field, triggers waves of reassessment and updates. "The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends upon the unreasonable man." - George Bernard Shaw in “Maxims for Revolutionists” Request for a free copy of the book 'Discontinuous Learning : Igniting the genius within by aligning Self, Work & Family'! here: https://lnkd.in/dgBvU9Gn. Day 2 of 21 Days of Psychological Theories Unraveling Behaviorism It's all about actions and reactions today, folks. No inner turmoil or unconscious desires—just observable behavior. Behaviorism is like watching a dance where every move is a response to a specific tune. Let's break down the rhythm with two key choreographers: Pavlov and Skinner. Pavlov's Classical Conditioning: The Bell Rings, and We Salivate Remember Pavlov and his dogs? No? Well, Pavlov was a scientist who noticed dogs salivate not just when they see food but also when they hear the bell that's rung at feeding time. This discovery led to the concept of Classical Conditioning. - Stimulus: Something that evokes a response. Before conditioning, the bell is a neutral stimulus—it means nothing to the dogs. - Response: The behavior caused by the stimulus. Salivating at the sight of food is a natural response. Through repeated association, Pavlov taught his dogs to associate the bell (neutral stimulus) with food (unconditioned stimulus), leading them to salivate (conditioned response) at the sound alone. It's like getting hungry just by smelling your favorite dish cooking. Skinner's Operant Conditioning: Actions and Consequences B.F. Skinner took behaviorism a step further with Operant Conditioning. It's all about learning from the consequences of our actions. Think of it as a cosmic "cause and effect" system. - Positive Reinforcement: Adding something pleasant to increase a behavior. Like getting a treat for cleaning your room. - Negative Reinforcement: Removing something unpleasant to increase a behavior. Think of the annoying beep your car makes until you buckle up. - Punishment: Adding or removing something to decrease a behavior. Like losing phone privileges for staying out too late. Skinner showed us how our environment shapes our behavior through rewards and penalties. It's a powerful insight into how habits form and how we can change them. Behaviorism gives us a toolkit for understanding and modifying behavior. It's super practical, from training pets to developing new habits or even marketing. Yes, marketers use these principles to get us hooked on products! I'm fascinated by how these theories apply in real life. What about you? Have you noticed classical or operant conditioning in your own behavior or someone else's? Maybe in how you've trained your pet or in your learning experiences? Can't wait to hear your thoughts and examples. And remember, every action has a reaction, especially in the world of psychology. Stay curious, and let's keep the conversation buzzing. See you on Day 3! #Behaviorism #ClassicalConditioning #OperantConditioning #Pavlov #Skinner #PsychologyInAction #21DaysOfPsychology #LearnThroughBehavior #BehavioralScience #EverydayPsychology #Psychology #PsychologyStudents

where you are right now is exactly where you want to be subconsciously. You might think consciously you want all these things, but there simply not part of your programs. You don't need better goals or strategy, you need a better programming. A great strategy with the wrong mindset will bring no results whereas a shit strategy with a great mindset will always bring result. If you want to change your programming, it would take a massive amount of willpower and repetition - most people fail at that - OR change your subconscious with trance. Trance can be induce in many ways. Hypnosis is the technology that allows us to go into trance. We don't realize, but many things are hypnotic. I like to use "hypnosis" as an art but also sounds and sexuality to create change. You need to chose your "technology" and become extremely good at it or have someone extremely good at it work with/on you. The greater the technology, the deeper the trance, the greater the change in the shortest amount of time. It can literally happen in an instant ! watch #anxiety #healing #trauma #ptsd #hypnosis #hypnotized #psychology #hypnosisworks #subconsciousmind

Experts in psychology suggest there are four types of intelligence: 1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ) 2) Emotional Quotient (EQ) 3) Social Quotient (SQ) 4) Adversity Quotient (AQ) 1. Part of Intelligence (IQ): This measures the level of intellect and understanding. It's necessary for solving math problems, memorizing things, and learning lessons. 2. Emotional Intelligence (EQ): This measures your ability to maintain peace with others, manage time, be responsible, honest, respect boundaries, empathetic, genuine, and have self-control. 3. Social Intelligence (SQ): This measures your ability to build and maintain a network of friends for a long time. People with higher EQ and SQ tend to excel in life compared to those with a higher IQ but lower EQ and SQ. 4. Part of Adversity (AQ): This measures your ability to navigate through challenges in life and emerge without losing control. Facing adversity, AQ determines who will give up, who will abandon their families, and who will contemplate suicide. Parents should enlighten their children about aspects of life beyond just academic records. Prepare them to embrace adversity and tolerate it. #Psychology #Intelligence #EQ #IQ #SQ #AdversityQuotient #EmotionalIntelligence #SocialIntelligence #PersonalDevelopment #ProfessionalDevelopment #LifeSkills #SuccessFactors
