PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT It is a slow but sure process if you know what you want and only if you are committed to it. It is a multipronged approach. It requires learning new habits and unlearning some. It requires developing new skills and mastering some existing ones. It may entail change in behavior patterns and maybe forming new ones. Remember, it is only YOU who can bring this change in you. No outsider can help you in this game of makeover. They can only bring the information to you and facilitate the process. Experiential learning based approach helps you explore your own experience and keep learning from it lifelong. #outdooreducation #experientiallearning

In the world of learning and development, one of the most rewarding journeys is helping individuals unlock their full potential. Yet, it's not uncommon to encounter learners who constantly question themselves and face hurdles in expressing their thoughts. How can we support these individuals on their path to self-assurance and eloquence? Here are a few strategies I've found invaluable: 1️⃣ Cultivate a Safe Space: Foster an environment where learners feel comfortable sharing their ideas without fear of judgment. Encourage active listening and constructive feedback to build trust and confidence. 2️⃣ Validate Their Experience: Acknowledge the validity of their feelings and struggles. Remind them that everyone faces moments of doubt and difficulty, but it's through perseverance and practice that we grow. 3️⃣ Provide Tools and Techniques: Equip learners with practical skills to enhance their communication abilities. Offer workshops on public speaking, storytelling, or even mindfulness techniques to manage nerves and boost self-assurance. 4️⃣ Celebrate Progress: Recognize and celebrate even the smallest victories along their journey. Whether it's speaking up in a meeting or delivering a presentation with newfound confidence, every step forward deserves applause. By implementing these strategies, we can empower learners to break free from the shackles of self-doubt and unlock their full potential. Let's spark a conversation! How do you support learners who struggle with self-expression? Share your insights in the comments below. #Empowerment #CommunicationSkills #LearningAndDevelopment #Educator #LifelongLearning

The more experience I gain in #learninganddevelopment in terms of years, the more I realise just how much is unknown and unexplored! When I started my #journey, #training was all about sharing #knowledge and giving instructions. I could feel the gap but could never truly place my finger on the pulse of the problem. I tried doing things #differently. Sometimes they worked and sometimes my efforts fell flat! Everything was a #learning. Then the #focus shifted to laying the onus on the learning. We (trainers and team managers) started bracketing people having "will" or "skill"' issues. I don't like the word "issues". However that's another debate! There was a time in my career when all we did was share #feedback and left it upon the learners to #accept/ #reject or work on it. This was the most foolish #approach in my opinion. Training is #customised EVERY SINGLE TIME. Anyone who offers run of the #mill content will continue to offer #sub-#standard #solutions that have lower impact. The blame is #automatically shifted on learners in this case. #Focus on answering the WHY. Follow it up with HOW. Stating the "what" is the simplest step. Once the "how" is established, demonstrate to your learners the application and then follow it up with practice, practice, practice and more practice until they find a way to make the new a part of their everyday. It takes effort- yes. It takes time- yes. It brings greater change- HELL YES! A sports coach DEMONSTRATES. A pottery trainer DEMONSTRATES. A cooking teacher DEMONSTRATES. A school teacher DEMONSTRATES. Why are communication coaches stuck on "telling" alone?! Learning happens best when people are allowed time to absorb content and given the freedom to come back with questions. Learning happens when people are motivated continuously to come up with workarounds to any identified problem areas. #communicationcoach #growthmindset #changethenarrative #bethechange
