The #TuringAward, often called the "Nobel Prize of Computing," is among the most talked about awards in the UK's tech scene 👀 👉 Since 1966, 77 experts and scientists have been honored for extraordinary achievements in computing and IT. To my excitement, a significant portion of their work revolves around #AI and #datascience! It's inspiring to witness the step-by-step progress in technology through the contributions of the laureates. 💡By the way, the 2023 recipient, Avi Wigderson, was recognized "For reshaping the understanding of the role of randomness in computation, and for decades of intellectual leadership in theoretical computer science." Have you been following this award? I sure will from now on! #funfact #uk #technology #computerscience

I am very excited to share that I have completed my MRes Creative Computing at the Creative Computing Institute at UAL with a disctinction! 🎉 During my time at the university I developed an interactive educational tool to make complex AI concepts more accessible and enjoyable, ultimately advancing AI literacy for non-expert users. Integrating tactile interaction, gamified elements and Explainable AI tools, users were able to make quick predictions on the survival outcomes of passangers on the Titanic they created. This method helps break down multi-layer data into physical game pieces, making learning fun and engaging. Participants in my study were able to grasp the fundamentals such as feature importance and explainability for machine learning tools. 🤓

It was a pleasure contributing to this paper, in which we study evolutionary dynamics in hybrid human-AI systems, studying when Samaritan & Discriminatory AI can promote cooperation among human-like individuals.
I am really happy to see this work out today in the journal of the The Royal Society Interface. When it comes to learner persistence and success, relationships, connectivity and real-time, personalized supports are critical. Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) embraces a robust student advising model you can learn more about here: https://lnkd.in/etafW9AE 👩💻🔁👩🎓Each learner-advisor serves 250 learners, creating a one-on-one relationship. In recognition of a range of learner needs and the ability of technology to expand human capacity, SNHU partnered with EdSights to better identify and prioritize outreach to learners with the most urgent needs. Through Penny, an AI-generated chatbot, advisors at SNHU now have more information to act faster to support the learners who need it most. READ MORE ⤵ about how an AI-generated chatbot named Penny has improved the effectiveness of personalized support through SNHU's student advising model and increased student persistence. #highered
Excited to release our case study with Southern New Hampshire University! From a pioneering randomized controlled trial to a full-scale implementation for 150,000 students, this journey showcases the transformative power of AI in higher ed 🚀 SNHU's AI, "Penny," has become a cornerstone in creating more accessible and personalized learning environments. Penny's individualized outreach resulted in a 92% student opt in, 87% active student participation and 2.5 million messages received from SNHU students! Thanks to Penny's real-time insights, Southern New Hampshire University's advising team was also empowered to focus on the "work of the heart" and engage in more meaningful student interactions. This case study is a testament to the synergy between technology and human-centric approaches in enhancing student success outcomes. Read the full case study here → https://lnkd.in/e_8BmDjs
