As I prepare for the end of this internship, I learned the value of professionalism and office etiquette throughout my amazing internship experience, where I was able to actively participate in a professional work environment. My understanding of professional behavior, time management, teamwork, and clear communication has improved as a result of this experience. I was able to learn about office dynamics, understand corporate culture, and adjust to various work environments thanks to this internship opportunity. Through this experience, I've been able to build the foundation for my potential career growth and knowledge. With my experience in several areas of this industry, including dispatch, route planning, and warehouse management for three months in each department. Dispatch department; As an employee of this department, I had the opportunity to work with two of the most widely utilized pieces of software: SAP S/4 HANA and Stratopod, which provide easy analysis and control of logistical movements. I got a chance to learn about SAP invoicing. Warehouse department; Working at the warehouse, I got to do stock taking which was conducted monthly also participated in the financial year end stock take, Create a purchase order for the plants, issue out samples for the sales reps Assisting with SAP transaction Capturing of orders from production Route Planning. This is where I got to learn that the Sales Reps, the warehouse and the dispatch department need to work closely to meet the customers' demands. Working in this department highlights what the sales department does which is order entry and order validation; then carrier selection based on the capability, reliability and service levels which is done by the route planner; then it continues to the warehouse department which deals with selecting the ordered items from inventory, and loading them according to the picking slip; lastly it continues to the distribution team that then creates the billing documents and the order will be delivered the customer Through Youth Employment Services, I completed a 12-month quality work experience. I was able to monitor my progress at work with YES's digital tools and their great work readiness modules. #Logistics #Fleet #SupplyChainManagement #YES4Youth #opentowork #Job

Today marks 6 years since I joined Colliers. As I sit here on my extended Covid-vacation reflecting on this time, I wanted to share 6 things I’ve learned along the way: 1. Never say never. I started as an analyst and my idea of it was that I will sit in some corner in the office, do my research and never go and meet clients and for sure you will never see me on a stage or giving interviews to press. All by accident, I had my first presentation to a client less than a month into my job and I had my first public presentation to an audience of more than 100 people just 7 months into my position. 2. Say yes and figure it our later. I always must know all the details before I say yes to something, however over years I have learned that if something excites you, say yes and eventually you will figure out the rest – or at the very least, learn a lot in the process. 3. Never stop learning. And here I do not mean just taking some courses or doing a master’s degree, but instead stay as curious as you were in your first internship. I was very lucky with my first internship more than 15 years ago, company’s CEO for a whole month took 10 minutes of each day to answer all my questions regarding that day’s internship topic, this was an invaluable experience. It is hard to keep this mindset being 10 years in the industry, but ask my colleagues and they will confirm that I still come to them and ask how things work in their field, because I am genuinely interested in each detail. 4. Speak. If you have questions, ask. If you have an idea, share it. If you do not agree with something, say it. Of course, be polite, be ready that others are not ready to listen, but always speak. You cannot make a change, if you cannot express your opinion. This might seem small for some, but for me as an introvert, it has been a huge thing to learn. 5. Pick up the phone. As a typical millennial, I hate speaking on the phone. For the first 3-4 years in Colliers, I managed to survive without picking up the phone, but once you have exchanged e-mails back and forth for weeks, you just realise that making a call is 10 times more efficient. Do I still prefer written communication? Of course. Do I force myself to pick up the phone? Yes. 6. Work in a team. One is not a fighter. Whenever I find that something is overwhelming there are 2 ways how I deal with it, first: one thing at the time meaning start with the first thing and deal with others later; second: ask for a help, what seems overwhelming to you, is an everyday topic to your colleagues and they can help you instantly. And there is the third thing that I am still learning: delegate. How is it that there are not enough hours in a day?! Here’s to a successful year ahead! #anniversary #ColliersBaltics

Feeling very grateful as I complete my summer internship with Vodafone Idea as a Logistics and Supply Chain Management intern. 🥁 🎊 ✨ 📞 💼 During my 2 months internship period as I was working with the procurement team, I was able to understand from where does logistics and supply chain starts and where does it end in a Telecommunication Industry. To summarize all the process in short: 1)First a budget is allocated for a particular project and then a Purchase Requisition is raised. 2)Then Request for Quotation/Price (RFQ/RFP) is raised where the company takes a price quotation from a minimum of 3 vendors. 3)After the vendor sends the quotations, Note for Approval(N.F.A) is raised where we write a summary to the vendor along with several attachments which includes Bill of Quotation (B.O.Q), Annexure Sheet(Rate Comparison Sheet), Benchmarking list of product prices in market and other regional circles along with O.E.M (Original Equipment Manufacturer) rate list and an approval mail of cluster head and finance head. 4) After the N.F.A is approved, Purchase Order(P.O) is raised. All the communication and legal steps between the procurement team with suppliers and vendors are done over a software known as S.A.P 4 HANA which is an in-house software developed by Tata Consultancy Services. 5) After raising a P.O when the goods are received Goods Received Note(G.R.N) is made where the vendor and the warehouse in charge as well as the Corporate Company itself will get alert about the fact that the goods have been delivered. 6) After GRN is complete, the remaining amount which is to be made to the vendor is made as the payments are done in two parts a) When P.O is raised. b) When G.R.N is completed. 7) Now that the item is in warehouse in order to send it to the site when required, a Goods Issued (G.I) Note is created in order to generate a gate-pass for the following items. 8) Now that the items have reached the site, installation of materials such as Distributed Antenna Systems(D.A.S) is done and then the network team updates on the situation in order to proceed with the final step which is done by the finance team and procurement team as well known as capitalization. Budget Allocation -> Purchase Requisition -> Request for Quotation -> Note for Approval -> Purchase Order and half payment to the vendor -> Delivery of Goods -> Goods Received Note -> Full Payment to the vendors -> Goods Issued -> Installation of materials at sites -> Capitalization. This is how a lifecycle in Commercial/Supply Chain department in a telecommunication company works. The learning would not have been possible without the guidance of senior managers at Vodafone Idea who helped me in clearing my doubts and provided me immense support by sparring time for me in their busy schedule. 2019 , I was doing my internship with Clients Option , we where contractor's doing some jobs for Radisson Blu . The idea my boss had was that I go there , do his work while doing his work I can learn some few things at Radisson. I started looking for opportunities to learn, then my boss took me to their engineering department but soon I discovered they had IT department too , and I have always loved tech , so some one introduced me to members of the IT department , he said 'see this young guy he said he likes IT you people can just tag him along lol' . So they brought me to Adeyeri Ayodele Michael. ,then he introduced me to his boss 'Yinka Abdullah Dosunmu. So I started working with then ,I would do Clients Option work , I will work with the Engineering department , I will also work with the IT department. Then they where paying me 20,000 ....... I was working as if they where where paying me 200,000 , at that time I really did not consider it as work , for me I was having fun , but looking back now I knew I really did In the effort massively for an Intern , no body dose that lol.... Then Boss Yinka would assign task to as if I was really a staff of Radisson, I was very resourceful, he had to like say come and become Radisson Intern , I think Radisson was paying 30k + Free breakfast and Lunch , but I turned it down , but nothing changed I still just keep doing the work , But If I get that kind opportunity now I wount turn it down oooooooo Lol. Then 2021 another opportunity can again through Boss Yinka assistance , he gave me the link for Ephriam IT , that was how I got a job there before going for service. The beauty of this whole stuff was that I still did all I did and it did not affect my work with Clients Options, because at the end of my internship my Clients Option boss scored me well. I know you love my story right.... .......... the point is anywhere you find yourself , put in more effort that you are paid , the rewards may not come from where you are presently and it may not always come very quick so don't be discouraged...... but it will surely come . #professional #success #forward #upward
