The ripple of kindness! Love this wonderful moment of compassion & awareness from New York Red Bulls players who selflessly give their jackets to their young mascots getting soaked in the rain.
A simple moment of compassionate leadership that will never be forgotten by the young kids.
And a reminder that in a world where you can be anything, be kind.

Many of you might have watched the incredible upset of #5 Notre Dame at the hands of Northern Illinois University (NIU) on Saturday night. While these upsets are why I absolutely love college football, it was the post-game comments by NIU head coach, Thomas Hammock that really captured me and so effectively illustrated the power of vulnerability in leadership.
Minutes after NIU blocked a game-winning field goal to clinch the win, Coach Hammock was interviewed. Tears welling in his eyes, you could see and feel the emotion as he began to describe the landmark win.
“I’m so proud of our kids, the coaches, just everybody. They believed. They believed. And we came here and got it done.”
“I told them all week: We don’t need luck. We just gotta be our best, and they were their best today, and we were able to get it done.”
Authentic leaders, like Coach Hammock challenge us to simply be our best and that through our hard work and effort, we can accomplish the greatest of goals. But, through his tears and his clear expression of love for his players and the joy of seeing their success he showed his vulnerability. The power of love, commitment, focus, and belief created the strength to topple a giant.
Brené Brown tells us, "Vulnerability sounds like truth and feels like courage. Truth and courage aren't always comfortable, but they are never weaknesses." Thank you Coach Hammock for sharing your truth, showing your courage and demonstrating vulnerable and authentic leadership to all. #thankyoucoach#vulnerableleadership#authenticleadership#topplegiants
Here is my new video highlighting a portion of one of my presentations. Looking forward to connecting with many more organizations and sharing important leadership foundations!
The fundamentals of baseball, such as teamwork, strategy, and dedication, are like the business fundamentals at Berkshire.
We value motivational leadership, thrive on teamwork while encouraging individual solid performances, and strive for consistency of excellence, just like a winning baseball team. https://hubs.la/Q02GLtW10

Fancy jacket or not ... Kim Mulkey, LSU Women's Head Basketball Coach should be ashamed of what she said,
"𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞" ...
This is stupidity at its best and a poor example of leadership.
In a time when we need MORE leadership than ever before.
No matter what happens you don't "encourage" the players to fight.
You don't wish for one player to be pitted against the other.
You THINK about all that you may speak ... but do not speak ALL that you think.
She ought to retract her statement and at all times do what is in her power as a leader to encourage THE BEST sportsmanship possible.
I don't want to hear the "heat of the moment" excuse.
Everything we do as business owners, as employers as parents and as leaders ... have "optics" attached to them.
Optics matter! So does the message. Words count and words matter!
In public relations and crisis management ... YOU have to control yourself in order to control the narrative. IF you don't ... someone else will control your narrative ... and you certainly don't want that to happen.
I take full ownership and responsibility for what I say and write.
Now, it's time for Kim Mulkey to do the same.

Growing up in nearby Cape Elizabeth, Megan felt drawn to the arts at an early age. From performing Tina Turner tunes on her parents’ front lawn to becoming a professional singer and musician, Megan quickly developed confidence in her ability to use her voice effectively.
Throughout her decades of work as a certified coach and leadership trainer, Megan noticed a stark confidence gap between men and women in business. She founded Rockstar Camp with this in mind, providing a space where women conquer stage fright and unleash their voices through performance, empowering them to embrace their brilliance and leadership potential.
