📢 Exciting News from MAS ETH in Digital Clinical Research! 🎉 Yesterday marked the conclusion of the Remote Monitoring module within our continuing education programme. The "ETH Technology Fair@Balgrist" was a resounding success, featuring five innovative startups in the field of digital health technology. We're excited to share the highlights of the event with you! Under the expert guidance by Chris Gugl, CEO at evoleen, the event provided an engaging platform for these startups to showcase their impressive solutions. Attendees, including our well-prepared students, explored the latest advancements and ideas, engaging deeply with the startups: 👉 A motivational and rewarding app to help adolescent patients with chronic diseases adhere to their therapy (AdHero) 👉 An app and data management dashboard for remote monitoring of rheumatoid arthritis (DETECTRA) 👉 An AI-powered system for 24/7 bowel monitoring to detect obstructions, especially postoperatively (DigeHealth) 👉 An AI-driven tool designed to minimise administrative tasks in hospitals (House of Charts) 👉 An in-ear EEG for home monitoring of brain function, particularly during sleep (IDUN Technologies) The regulatory expert Dietmar Schaffarczyk from ETH Zurich - Digital Trial Intervention Platform (dTIP) provided a comprehensive overview of navigating the regulatory landscape in digital health technology. The showcased solutions not only demonstrated how digital health technology can address specific medical needs but also emphasized the significance of usability and clinical evidence. We are grateful to the startups for sharing their valuable insights. Additionally, our students gained exposure to future medical education through an augmented reality application by Augmedi, designed for surgical and anatomical training. Moreover, attendees had the exclusive opportunity to explore OR-X, Balgrist’s cutting-edge research and training infrastructure for surgical innovation, along with the Balgrist Campus, which houses Research Infrastructure of National Importance. Special thanks to Flora Vajda and Veronika Hall for their expertise and enthusiasm during the tour. Our deep appreciation goes to Balgrist Hospital and Balgrist Campus for hosting our event and providing fantastic support.
