💥 The Silent SMS Scam You Might be Overlooking 💥 While SMS is an essential communication tool, there’s a growing issue many businesses don’t see: Artificially Inflated Traffic (AIT). Fraudsters are exploiting SMS networks by generating fake traffic to drive up their revenues, often without businesses even knowing. 💸📊 In a typical AIT scam, bots are used to create fake accounts in a number of apps, triggering one-time password messages. The fraudsters, along with rogue SMS vendors, intercept the traffic, and claim the profit - without delivering the messages. These fraudulent activities inflate your expenses and reduce your ROI, all while staying hidden in plain sight. In 2022, when X (formerly Twitter) was acquired, Elon Musk shared it was losing around $60 million a year in such SMS scams. Your business too could be paying for thousands of fake messages that never reach a real customer. 📉 At Augnet, we’re fighting back with advanced analytics to prevent AIT – protecting your budget and boosting the efficiency of your campaigns. 🔍💡 Learn more about SMS AIT here: https://lnkd.in/e_CKrTwB #AIT #FraudPrevention #Augnet #SMS #TechSolutions
