I recently read this interesting article in @Food Ingredients First about the Peas, Legume and Nuts Today (PLANT) Act, a new legislative move that was introduced into the US Congress last month. The PLANT act would provide more opportunities for farmers to produce ingredients used in plant-based foods and help grow the sector – and signifies huge potential to drive plant-based growth and innovation in the US. This year was my first #ExpoWest as the North American Sales Office Director at @FrieslandCampina Ingredients and I have to say, I was blown away by the scale and depth of innovation in natural health and nutrition! The theme this year was #SparkYourPassion and there was plenty going on to do just that. For me personally, the focus on holistic health and wellness came through loud and clear with lots of companies playing with flavors, formats and functional ingredients to support a person's overall well-being. It's something our team was talking about a lot as our proteins and prebiotics portfolio is designed to help people with special dietary needs get the most out of life, always. Looking forward to next year already and hope to see more of you at events throughout the year. Next up is IFT First in July.
