Renewable energy will provide 82 per cent of the national electricity market under current targets for 2030 - in Australia, which is at least a decade before any nuclear could theoretically be operational
Building nuclear reactors would cost six times more than wind and solar power firmed up with batteries, according to the independent report released on Saturday by the Clean Energy Council. https://lnkd.in/gyhG-3Fq

The Coalition's plan for seven new nuclear plants in Australia aims to replace coal-fired stations. However, questions about timing, cost, and location challenge its feasibility, given the fast pace of renewable adoption and the projected economic disadvantages of nuclear power against cheaper, more abundant renewables. Professor Ken Baldwin sheds light on this decarbonisation debate for #ANUPolicyBrief and #ANUReporter ⬇️ https://loom.ly/jrTFgX4

The EU will need to build an additional 50 GW of nuclear power by 2050, or more than 30 reactors to meet its energy transition targets. 30 more reactors is expensive, but how expensive and why? Explanations. #NuclearEnergy

Last week the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi attended the 26th World Energy Congress, where he spoke about the recent #nuclearenergy renaissance, saying that "there has been a real change in attitudes towards nuclear power". This progress has indeed been reflected by the recent #nuclearenergy summit and the pledge made by 25 countries at #COP28 to triple nuclear capacity. Urenco will continue playing a key role in this, as the world looks to #nuclearenergy to secure energy supplies, #decarbonise and reach #netzero. Invest Building Fusion energy, space and maritime propulsion systems, Your talk is Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fails to discuss fusion. https://lnkd.in/ge_aeX7M The nuclear fission industry is, ignorant of what's happening around you. Pull your uranium heads out, start adjusting your industry to fusion energy and start preparing to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. As it dawns on Earth like the sun. Great Headline Guardian on Nuclear fission. https://lnkd.in/g8sMZtpR Fission is moving towards obsolescence at an accelerated pace, as it is "out of step, out of time, out of place," and merely a temporary industry globally. https://lnkd.in/gbd_mZqk Commercial fusion electrical generation is a promising innovative sustainable and clean energy method. By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period. https://lnkd.in/gY9J3MQY Now see what news is happening in the Fusion industry in the world. https://lnkd.in/g9hMBD7a As fission trebles, fission fuel shortage is increasingly real, as linked below. https://lnkd.in/gze5rwpr
With energy policy, particularly nuclear technology, at the forefront of the political debate, it's essential to have unbiased and fact-driven information. In this article by Alan Finkel, we get just that. As we move forward with our energy policy, it's necessary to avoid picking winners between renewables and nuclear. Check out this informative piece for a better understanding of the issue. #EnergyPolicy #NuclearTechnology #RenewableEnergy
