Great post, Mr. Branson! We have reached a critical juncture in terms of the way we educate. Children should not be taught predominantly for academic achievements but, more broadly, for the skills and abilities that will help them develop and contribute to society in the real world. The game of Chess is an excellent example of utilizing strategy and forward thinking. This skill set can teach our youth how to problem solve, think logically, and apply lessons learned in practical everyday situations. However, these skills should not remain confined to games but should be shared as core education techniques within all subjects to maximize our youth’s potential. So I agree that a necessary revamp of our education system is needed to ensure more holistic skill development throughout, ultimately better preparing our future generation for life outside the classroom. Students Munich International School e.V. always have the option to choose their preferred level of training commitment, whether it's gold, silver, or bronze. We have learned that providing this choice encourages everyone to participate to the best of their abilities. Students understand that some will engage in continuous running while others may opt for speed walking. It's natural to have days when you feel better than others. It is important to us that students learn how to listen to their bodies to avoid overtraining and injuries. During our fitness room session, we focused on determining our maximum heart rate. Today, we used my own HRmax as a reference for the bronze group. As the silver and gold groups ran past the bronze group at their own pace, we patiently monitored my heart rate, aiming to approach its maximum. Once it reached that point, I squeezed the whistle. The bronze group transitioned to speed walking while the gold and silver groups returned to us, offering a high five to the last runner in the bronze group before continuing their run. Today's lesson taught me the significance of tying my shoelaces properly and avoiding coffee before training.
