This ONE Tool Made All the Difference Imagine having a surefire way to showcase yourself to agents, casting directors, and other industry professionals in the best light possible. As actors, there's more to us than just our credits on a CV. Does your IMDb, Actors Access, or Spotlight profile truly do you justice? Does it highlight where you want to go, rather than just where you’ve been? If you're like most actors, probably not. Many actors think creating their own website will solve this problem, but that can often be more detrimental than helpful. There’s a highly overlooked tool that gives you an unfair advantage by showcasing your true capabilities. And no, I’m not talking about lying. Here's why a website might not be the best option: Imagine you’re responding to a casting notice for a specific role. You direct the casting director to your website, hoping they’ll see you’re perfect for the part. But here’s the catch: you want them to focus on your headshots and showreels, not get distracted by everything else. Human curiosity can lead them astray. They might end up scrolling through your gallery of stage plays or headshots from ten years ago when you want them to notice your recent dramatic roles, or they could start exploring unrelated content. Worse yet, if they click on your social links, they might get pulled away by their own notifications and forget to return. Even if they stay on your website and click on your showreel, it's probably hosted on YouTube or Vimeo, and the platforms' powerful algorithms might distract them with other content. If they’re a sucker for cute cat videos, you’ve lost them. What can you do? Enter the EPK, which in my program stands for Electronic Pitch Kit. This tailored, comprehensive showcase of your entire persona shows a fuller picture of the human being, it's more personal and helps to create a connection that mere stats on a page can't compete with. It keeps industry professionals, like casting directors, agents, producers, and directors, laser-focused on your most relevant attributes and the goals you aim to achieve. This strategic focus ensures they see not only where you've been but also where you're capable of going. There’s an art to creating an EPK that gets you booked, which is why it’s a key part of my signature program, "Get Better Roles." It gives my clients an unfair advantage, and that’s exactly how we like it. Here are a couple of things to get you started on your EPK: Curate Your Materials: Include professional headshots, a showreel, and an actor’s pitch statement. Add project stills, special skills, and a fun "About Me" section. Don’t forget contact details. Professional Presentation: Make sure everything is professionally presented with on-brand colors and fonts. Avoid PDFs and use a shareable online format. Tailor Your EPK: Customize your EPK for each specific career facet. Create separate EPKs for acting, singing, and voice-over work to avoid confusing industry professionals. Stay bold!

Preparing individuals to appear on camera is a vital element of pre-production, particularly since many companies I collaborate with prefer to feature their own team members in videos rather than hiring actors. Instead of focusing on traditional casting, the emphasis shifts towards training and coaching these individuals to be comfortable and effective on camera. This involves honing their presentation skills, enhancing their confidence, and providing guidance on conveying the intended message to resonate with the target audience. Selecting suitable locations and ensuring the talent is camera-ready play a pivotal role in setting the groundwork for a successful shoot. Visit us at https://lnkd.in/ge7WcmVA for a comprehensive guide to all your pre-production needs. #videoproduction #coloradovideoediting #professionalvideoservices #creativecontentcreators #videoproductioncompany #filmmakers #videoeditingservices #businessvideos #visualstorytelling #marketingvideos

What exactly do Casting Directors DO? Do we sit in an oversized chair behind a desk puffing on a cigar saying “show me what you got?” Do we dress like top executives so we can intimidate the talent? No. We are worker bees, in the trenches, wearing comfortable shoes, working dastardly long hours, missing a lot of time with our families. Just ask my 35 year old daughter. We have the stamina and gumption of a great leader, but don’t get paid as much as they do. Simply put, We scout talent and put teams together. Just like a Scout for Professional sports does. Just like a Human Resource department does for Companies. And more often than not, we are working on more than one project at a time. For a film, we could be casting more than 55 speaking roles. (The following is a list of duties when auditions were in Person in the Audition Room. Alas, self-tape auditions are the norm now, and in my opinion, the demise of the casting process.) • Negotiate CD Deal • Create Deal Memo and Send W-9 Paperwork • Read the Script • Aid in Deciding When Auditions will Take Place • Accumulate All Info for Breakdown • Book Casting Space • Create the Breakdown • Aid in Deciding Sides for Auditions • Post the Breakdown on Breakdown Services/Actors Access • Make Lists of Actors I Know to Bring In • Monitor the Submissions from • Monitor and Answer emails and phone calls from Agents and Managers • Go Through Submissions and Choose the Best for the Job • Watch Demo Reels • Decide Who Will Come In • Organize the Sessions • Call Out the Appointments • Make Sure Each Auditioner has Material and Directions to Session • Revise the Appointments as Schedules Change (for the actors and producer/director) • Create the Session Sheets • Confirm All Actors Called In • Revise the Session Sheets as Actors Pass or “Fall Out” • Confer with Director/Producer Re: Casting Ideas • Forward Demo Reels to Director/Producer of Those Actors NA for Auditions • Arrive Early and Set Up First Casting Session (includes camera, tri-pod, monitor if necessary) • Run First Casting Session (Pair up actors, bring in order of sign in, etc.) • “Tape” All Auditions if Required • “Read” With Actors If Necessary • When Session is Complete, Confer with Producer/Director Top Picks • Decide to have Additional Session or just Callbacks • Dismantle the Casting Studio/Room • Inform Top Picks of their Status • Return emails and phone calls related to the session • Convert Video Footage from Camera to iMovie • Edit Video Footage (Just Top Picks or Everyone?) • Upload Video Footage to WebSite (Private YouTube? Cast It?) • Share Link with Producer/Director • Prep 2nd Casting Session if Applicable • Repeat All Tasks Related to Casting Session if Applicable for 2nd TO BE CONTINUED - YES THERE IS A LOT MORE :) Oh, we also scout new talent constantly, so our "free" time is going to plays and musicals, comedy clubs, sketch shows, and watching lots of movies and television. We also scroll the socials & YouTube.

Creative Director Wanda Cinema World | Producer, Script Writer, Live Streamer & Forex Trader. Partnering with Hollywood funding, Hollywood Distributors, Hollywood crew, Hollywood Animation to make sure they shine.
#Heretotalkaboutfilm #Seven vital #points to consider before #hiring your #crew. Behind every successful film or video project is a dedicated production team. From the #director to the #cinematographer, #productionmanager, and other #crew members. They all play a crucial role in bringing the project's vision to life. Hiring the right production team is essential for the success of your project. Today, we will discuss the key steps involved in finding and selecting the perfect team for your film or video project. 1. Define Your Needs: Before you start hiring crew members, it is important to clearly define your project's requirements. 2. Seek recommendations and referrals: Reach out to your network in the film industry, including colleagues, friends, and mentors, and ask for recommendations. They may be able to refer you to experienced professionals who have the skills and expertise you are looking for. 3. Review Portfolios and Reels: Once you have a list of potential candidates, review their portfolios and show reels to assess the quality of their previous work. This will give you a good sense of their artist vision and technical abilities. 4. Conduct Interviews: Narrow down your list of candidates and schedule interviews with them. Interviews provide an opportunity to discuss their experience, working style, and creative approach. 5. Check References: Request references from the candidates and reach out to their previous employers or collaborators. Ask about their strengths, weaknesses, and how well they work in a team. References can provide a more comprehensive picture of the candidate's capabilities. 6. Budget Considerations: Hiring the right production crew and team also involves considering your project's budget. Ensure that the rates and fees of the candidates align with your budgetary constraints. While it may be tempting to cut corners to save money, remember that investing in skilled professionals will ultimately result in higher-quality production. 7. Clear Communication: Once you have assembled your production crew and team, it's crucial to establish clear lines of communication. Clearly define roles and responsibilities, set expectations, and establish a project timeline. Effective communication will ensure that everyone is on the same page and working towards a common goal. These points are by no means exhaustive, but by taking them into consideration, you'll increase your chances of assembling a talented and cohesive team that will bring your vision to life on the screen. #makai_ivan #actor #writer #director #producer #filmmaker #cinemaworldstudios #cinemaworld Makai Ivan Netflix Showmax HollyWoood Nollywood Bollywood MultiChoice Group Cinema Uganda Leonard Amanya Mediavision Academy

ACTORS THIS IS FOR YOU GET INTERNATIONAL CASTING ROLES! Here are five key points emphasizing the importance of an actor's reel, I have also attached a video as a sample of an actors reel: 1. Showcase Versatility: An actor's reel allows them to demonstrate their range and versatility by portraying different characters and emotions. Casting directors want to see your ability to inhabit diverse roles, so include scenes that highlight your acting skills across various genres and scenarios. 2. Make a Lasting Impression: A well-crafted reel can leave a lasting impression on casting directors and industry professionals. It serves as your introduction and first impression, so ensure that it captivates the viewer from the start and showcases your talent in the best possible light. 3. Win Casting Calls: An actor's reel is a powerful tool for winning international casting calls. When casting directors review submissions, a compelling reel can set you apart from the competition and make you a top contender for coveted roles. Make sure your reel stands out and leaves a memorable impression. 4. Invest in Quality: Instead of relying on smartphone footage, invest in professionally shot and edited reels. Utilize high-definition video cameras, good lighting, and a well-designed set to ensure the highest quality production. A polished reel reflects your commitment to excellence and professionalism. 5. Be Ready at All Times: Keep your actor's reel readily available and up-to-date. You never know when an opportunity may arise, so having a comprehensive and impressive reel on hand ensures that you're prepared to seize any casting opportunity that comes your way. Remember, your actor's reel is your calling card in the industry, so make it count! Invest the time and resources to create a standout reel that showcases your talent and leaves a lasting impression on casting directors and decision-makers. ____________ Follow: Elias L Mulenga Zambian Film Content, Film/Content Reviewer, Creative Script Writer, and Film Director
