Recently, I led an insightful roundtable discussion on the evolving field of ‘Gas-to-X,’ which included diverse participants from E&P companies, established technology firms, start-ups, regulatory experts, and O&G tax professionals. We covered key questions such as: - What hurdles are preventing the large-scale development and deployment of ‘Gas-to-X’ technologies? - What will it take to successfully scale these solutions? The roundtable highlighted the complexity of scaling up ‘Gas-to-X’ technologies, considering the intricate dynamics between gas supply, gathering infrastructure, and processing capacity. Our discussion underscored the importance of cross-industry collaboration and innovation to make such technologies economically viable. Greentown Labs hosted this event, and it marked another significant milestone in SLB’s ongoing engagement with North America’s largest climate tech incubator. Thanks to everyone who participated!

The realization of this transformative vision requires more than just these scientific breakthroughs and technological marvels. It demands a global collaborative effort that transcends national borders and political ideologies, uniting humanity under a common goal: securing a sustainable future for generations to come. Scientists, engineers, policymakers, and industry leaders must work together, sharing knowledge, resources, and expertise to overcome the remaining technical hurdles and facilitate the smooth transition to a Zero Point Energy-powered world.

Our position is clear. Growth in renewable energy generation remains as relevant as ever. After challenging market conditions in 2022/23, we see a window of opportunity for investment as market conditions improve and the demand drivers for sustainable energy supply are unchanged.
"Investments in clean energies have rarely been more attractive." Looking at the current market situation, which is characterised by political and economic disruptions, a unique and long-term opportunity for clean energy investments becomes apparent. Markus Wandt, CIO Aquila Capital and Moritz Paysen, Head Corporate Hedging, are contextualising market developments such as high inflation, rising interest rates, CO2-certificate prices, energy prices and climate change. Analysing the findings and presenting potential forecasts, Markus and Moritz are evaluating the impact of these market dynamics on the viability and growth trajectory of clean energy investment opportunities.
