It's hot out. 🥵 Over the weekend, a blistering West Coast heat wave toppled all-time record high temperatures in #Nevada, setting daily records in dozens of surrounding cities. And forecasters warn of more record #heat throughout the week. The burning of #fossilfuels is a major contributor to human-caused #climatechange. When we burn fossil fuels, we create #greenhousegases that trap heat from the sun and keep the planet's surface and atmosphere warm. This can make heat waves longer, more intense, and more frequent. And furthermore, this can necessitate greater use of cooling solutions like #airconditioning, which contributes to the cycle of #energy use that burns even more fossil fuels. We can't stress this more: with a global transition to clean, #renewable energy, we can simultaneously support a growing #workforce, help everyday folks stay safe and cool during these heat waves, and stop feeding the energy-use cycles that have warmed our planet so much in the first place. #AuroraSolar

The recent heat wave on the West Coast highlights the urgent need to address climate change and transition to renewable energy. The cycle of fossil fuel use and its impact on greenhouse gas emissions is clear contributing to more frequent and intense heat waves. By embracing clean energy solutions, we can mitigate these effects, support a growing workforce, and ensure safer, cooler environments during extreme weather. What steps do you think are most crucial for accelerating the adoption of renewable energy in both residential and commercial sectors? Your thoughts could inspire actionable solutions to combat climate change.
