Foster meaningful relationships 4. Take responsibility for your own happiness These timeless lessons encourage us to live intentionally - focusing on joy, purpose, and connection. Australian palliative care nurse Bronnie Ware has done something remarkable. She’s taken the time to compile her patients’ viewpoints on universal subjects like regret, life purpose, and happiness; from the plethora of responses emerged five themes common to almost all of Ware’s patients. Ware assembled these reflections in her insightful book, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying. Read more here - https://lnkd.in/dXUMhAY

Embracing Life’s Full Circle: Death and the Role of a Death Doula Life and death are intimately connected, each defining and enriching the other. While death might seem like the opposite of life, it’s an essential part of our journey, offering its own form of closure and peace. A death doula plays a vital role in this profound transition, providing support and guidance when it’s needed most. Unlike traditional medical care, a death doula offers compassionate, non-medical support tailored to the unique needs and wishes of the individual and their loved ones. They help manage the emotional and practical aspects of dying, ensuring that the process is as peaceful and dignified as possible. By embracing the end of life with the assistance of a death doula, we can find harmony and understanding in the full spectrum of our existence. Death, like life, deserves care, respect, and compassion. Seize the moment-start the conversation. Connect now.

Respite care refers to the temporary relief that caregivers receive when they entrust a person in need to skilled professionals. It is a service that is becoming increasingly important as the demands on informal caregivers grow. This type of care ranges from providing basic assistance in activities of daily living to more complex medical care. A major benefit of respite care is that it can help reduce caregiver stress, which can lead to reduced rates of depression, anxiety, or even physical health problems. It can also strengthen the relationships between the caregiver and the person in their care since they are both able to regroup and start fresh. If you are a caregiver, respite care can be a crucial resource for your well-being as well as the person in your care. Learn about respite care at Cedarbrook of Rochester: https://bit.ly/3GELQPJ
