With the theme "Closing the gap: Breastfeeding support for all”, the 2024 World Breastfeeding Week commenced on August 1 and will run till August 7, 2024. A key question we must answer is how do we support every woman to ensure she exclusively breastfeed her child for the first 6 months of life? Is the woman and family economically viable? Is the environment friendly for exclusive breastfeeding? Are labor laws in support of exclusive breastfeeding? Is the evidence supporting exclusive breastfeeding widely known and acceptable? All yes to these questions? Then we are closing the gap. At least one is No, we are not closing the gap but probably minimizing it.
