We know weed control is an important factor when choosing what you plant. We give you options in the Enlist and Xtend systems. Stan D from Ausbury, MO, says, “It's important to have flexibility with weed control because we do a lot of planting soybeans after wheat. So that is a big advantage of Enlist beans for us.” #TSF #HappyCustomer #Enlist #Xtend

Two years ago I wrote this article: https://lnkd.in/eKiSivAr Soil blocking has only exploded in popularity in the years since posting. If you're not familiar with the process, check out the article. Soil Blocking is one of few seed starting techniques the doesn't require any plastic. Last week we quietly launched our own soil blocker. We wanted a product that would properly compress blocks for years and we wanted a more efficient product for American growing systems. Most American growing systems rely on 1020 trays (10 in x 20 in) which means many of their processes are optimized for that sizing. It was important to us at Johnny's Selected Seeds to optimize our blocker to be able to better fill a full 1020 tray and to provide a better process for making blocks by hand. Check out our quick video below showing the tool and revised process. With this new blocker and more products to come, we hope to support growers at every stage of the soil blocking process. You can also check out our previously released Tray Caddy and Hand Transplanter which were designed to aid the transplanting process: https://lnkd.in/eT8mbVHn https://lnkd.in/eC5PskAN So, who's ready to play with some mud? 😄 #industrialdesign #productdevelopment #soilblocking #garden #farmtools #smallag

We don’t want you to worry about your harvest this season. Even though this is a critical aspect of groundnut production, here are some points to consider … • Begin lifting groundnuts when 40 to 50 % of the pods have matured. • The harvesting process includes loosening, lifting, wilting, cocking (curing), picking and finally shelling. • Groundnuts must be dry before placing in a storehouse … it is best to store groundnuts in their shells. If you have a concern about your Groundnut crop this season, we are here to help. Comment your question in the comment section and we will find the best answer for your problem! Leave your worries to us this harvesting season! #harvestworries #wehavetheanswers #groundnuts

When do I need a mulching kit on my slasher? 🤔 Overgrown Pastures: ☘️ Mulching rank pasture allows material to fall to the paddock floor ☘️ Mulching older grasses allows younger grasses to flourish ☘️ Mulching before seed is set in pasture can enhance further growth of green stem Stubbles: 🌾 Leaving a stubble mulch over summer will help retain soil moisture 🌾 Allows faster release of stored nutrients in stubble, assisting the following years crop 🌾 Helps limit weed growth over summer #AusCut #AlphaCut #MulchingKit #PastureManagement #ResidueControl

Grower Case Study | Risk and reward of early sown canola 🌾🌾 Mike Dodd, a grain grower from Buntine, WA, has been planting canola since 2007. Typically, canola comprises 20-30% of their program and has almost always been their best-returning crop. Mike bases his sowing decision on stored soil moisture and tracks year-round rainfall across all blocks to inform them. This grower case study is 1 of 3 grower case studies on the risk and reward of early sown canola. Read it now ▶️ https://bit.ly/3Pb9cRK #GRDCPublications #Canola #EarlySownCanola #TimeOfSowing
