In 2023, VESCO Group, a portfolio company of umgi, generated $75.2 million in gross revenue. This year, the team expects sales to double. The group is actively working on the strategic expansion of its business in Europe, the main markets for VESCO clays being Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Turkey, and Poland. In 2023, VESCO Spain commenced extraction from a clay quarry at the Encarnita deposit in Spain. In 2024, VESCO Україна plans to extract up to 500 thousand tonnes of clay. It is a six times decrease compared to the pre-war period. However, combined with the stocks, it is enough to restore the flexibility of the product portfolio and meet the individual needs of the customers. VESCO continues to develop transport routes in the Black Sea through Ukrainian ports and plans to increase its logistics capacity within Ukraine. The group prioritises R&D to strengthen expertise, implement the principles of sustainable mining and further diversify extraction. In 2023, investments in the support and development of the group's companies totalled USD 5.3 million, of which USD 3.6 million were allocated to R&D. To achieve its sustainable development goals, VESCO is constantly working on land recultivation. In 2023, the group returned 108 hectares of land to Ukrainian communities, investing almost USD 3 million in the restoration.  #Mining #SustainableMining

Unlocking value for REE projects across Australia… As part of ASM’s mine to metals strategy, we’re seeking to develop the Dubbo Project as a rare earth and critical minerals separation and refining ‘hub’ – capable of processing materials from third parties through to high purity oxides. Building on this objective, we recently executed an Option Agreement with Caspin Resources Limited. The Agreement sets out the opportunity to enter into a joint venture agreement to earn up to 75% of the rare earth element #REE rights in Caspin’s Mount Squires Project in WA. We’re currently in the Initial Option Period of the Agreement and will undertake metallurgical testwork on existing samples to understand whether the material from Mount Squires could be suitable for processing at our Dubbo Project. Mount Squires is a large scale, greenfield-style gold and base metal project that lies within the West Musgrave region of Western Australia and is 100% owned by Caspin. Caspin discovered significant REE mineralisation on the project in 2023, the first discovery of REE in the West Musgrave Province. If you are like me and follow brine, you know how vital #chile is...specifically in the #atacama and the #maricunga.... Well, yesterday some clarity was given. Lets have a look at some details 👇 - Chile revealed it wanted to have three or four new lithium projects operational by 2026. Keep in mind, #dle is not commercial this day will vary. - Ambitious 70% increase of supply output by the end of the decade 😯 - Atacama & Maricunga controlled by state through Codelco & SQM joint venture representing a 50+1% - Private and State entities will co-develop the Alto Andinos & Pedernales flats not requiring a state majority - 26 flats have the opportunity to develop with an option to partner with the state as a minority - Updated protected salt flats to 38 some may be exploited This is progress. It has been very frustrating for constitutional land owners, investors and the citizens of Chile. Requiring future projects to develop an extraction method that is not proven is a difficult obstacle to navigate. This progress should be important to monitor as Chile has the finest quality brine on earth irrefutably. This will be a great example of "can policy shape production".
