Michigan is the latest From our story: Michigan on Thursday became the fifth state to target the use of deepfakes in campaigns, as Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) approved a legislative package aimed at regulating the use of artificial intelligence in political ads with the goal of ensuring voters are not misled. It was included in a larger bundle of more than a dozen election-related bills, including stiffer penalties for intimidating poll workers and expanded early voting. Whitmer signed them at a ceremony held at the Detroit NAACP branch.
