𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝘀, 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮, 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼-𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲? We should consider a new approach rather than attempting to reform existing institutions. Here are my thoughts: • 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆, such as a jury of experts or Ombudspersons, to ensure impartiality and accountability • 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 along with supporting datasets to promote transparency and allow public scrutiny • Develop a system to 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗽𝗿𝗼-𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁, incentivizing positive journalism • 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 that are already focused on media fairness and freedom, fostering global recognition and alignment • Also monitor the impact of these initiatives using objective metrics, such as the Reporters Without Borders (RSF) World Press Freedom Index, to ensure ongoing fairness 𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢 𝘦𝘯𝘷𝘪𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵. #Channel24 #roundtablediscussion #bangladeshnext #MediaReform

It’s interesting to see… Following people you trust on a social media site is important to learning the truth about what is going on… But it is becoming ever more relevant to seek news in a very easy, condensed view without having to suffer through politically driven commentary and analysis. It’s the “give it to me straight” approach to no-nonsense news.
