Nice event: Launch of 2024 DOT’s Emergency Response Guide (ERG). The mobile app has also just been updated. This is an essential resource for our emergency responders. Complementing the ERG are the AIHA’s Emergency Response Planning Guides (ERPGs) which provides values and technical information to protect public health in the event of chemical releases. ERPGs are developed by a select group of toxicologists, emergency response professionals, and industrial hygienists. ERPGs are essential resources for emergency responders, incident commanders, government agencies, transportation specialists and process safety professionals. In addition to DOT, NOAA also uses and references the AIHA ERPGs. https://lnkd.in/g_xKNThu https://lnkd.in/ge7W4DNr

10,000 Hours Plus & The Spirit of Goggins The "10,000 rule" refers to an individual's extensive experience and expertise, often used in the context of expert witnesses, for example. Malcolm Gladwell popularized the 10,000-hour rule in his book "Outliers." It suggests that it takes 10,000 hours of intensive practice to master a specific field. ChemQuants invokes this language to convey the determination and precision required to stand and succeed in the environmental forensics arena. ChemQuants embodies the 10,000-hour rule well because the principal, Mark Cejas, has exceeded that count in his career. It's just a fact based on the time, energy, and passion he committed to his craft, delivering a principled and innovative approach to problem-solving in technical consulting. "The spirit of Goggins" refers to the mindset and philosophy of David Goggins, a retired Navy SEAL, ultra-endurance athlete, and motivational speaker known for his extreme self-discipline and mental toughness. His approach to life is characterized by pushing past perceived limits, embracing discomfort, and continually striving to perform passionately, with mental acuity, determination, and unwavering presence. The ChemQuants principal embodies the "Spirit of Goggins" through unwavering self-discipline delivered for his clients, regardless of whether the client is counsel or an agile and sharp engineering firm requiring defensible work product to be delivered to a regulator. We relentlessly pursue the truth behind environmental contamination with the same dedication and meticulous attention to detail that David Goggins applies to his ultra-endurance challenges. Choose the ChemQuants edge for the win in your project. #trainedhumility

The Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) - Environmental Community of Interest and the PFAS Industry-Government Engagement program are presenting an informative webinar: PFAS IGE – PFAS 101 and PFAS Regulatory Update August 8, 2024 1:00 pm – August 8, 2024 2:00 pm Webinar As is well known throughout the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), PFAS impacts from the use of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) are widespread and affect many aspects of the function and future of our military bases. The amount of information about PFAS (e.g., DENIX, ITRC, NGWA, TRB, etc.) is overwhelming. This webinar will provide the attendees with an abbreviated introduction of basic information about PFAS. It will then build an understanding of the DOD response to PFAS concerns in the context of drinking water analysis and the recently finalized federal MCLs, state surface water and NPDES requirements, the hazardous substance designation, RSLs, and PFAS background considerations. Presenters Elizabeth Wessling, Client Program Manager, Weston Solutions Rosa Gwinn, PhD, PG, Global PFAS Technical Leader, AECOM Moderator Lisa Kammer, Emerging Issues Vice Chair for the SAME Environmental Community of Interest Information can be found here: https://lnkd.in/de3rqsVW
