We're excited to share our collaborative effort on a new case report, published in partnership with the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine, Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, and Motol University Hospital, Prague. This report delves into the rare case of a CIC::NUTM1 sarcoma of the brain in a 6-year-old patient. This type of sarcoma is particularly aggressive and often affects the axial skeleton. Our findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on this rare disease, expanding on previous reports and highlighting the importance of accurate diagnosis and timely intervention. We hope this research will lead to improved understanding and treatment of CIC::NUTM1 sarcomas, ultimately benefiting patients with this challenging disease. 🌟 A few hot topics emerged from our conversations with customers in the booth this year at #RSNA2023: 1️⃣ The MASAI randomized controlled trial by Lång, et al (Lancet Oncology, August 2023) is still hot... even in the US. Despite being research based in a double reading context, the robust methodology and strong findings really resonate with a wide audience. https://lnkd.in/eSr_VNjV 2️⃣ The March 2023 paper in European Radiology by Koch, et al was the star of many customer discussions. The fact that Transpara can deliver consistent sensitivity regardless of breast density gave potential users confidence that Transpara would fit effectively in their workflow. https://lnkd.in/gapMjihH 3️⃣ Optimized workflow matters most. New study published in European Radiology by Prof. Ramona Woitek, Danube Private University: “Perceptions of radiologists on structured reporting for cancer imaging - a survey by the European Society of Oncologic Imaging (ESOI)". Structured reporting describes the creation of radiological reports according to specific templates. Instead of writing findings in free text, disease-specific questions are answered. Radiologists believe that structured reporting in oncologic imaging improves report quality, decreases the error rate, and enables better communication with clinicians. Implementation of structured reporting in Europe is currently below the international level and needs society endorsement. Together with the Research Committee of the European Society of Oncologic Imaging (ESOI) Prof. Dr. Ramona Woitek published a study in European Radiology, whereby 200 radiologists from 51 countries were surveyed in an online study. Radiologists were asked to submit pros and cons as well as provide opinions on the use of structured reporting in oncological imaging, helping to provide recommendations for a structured report template. To view the study please go to: https://lnkd.in/dRehGzu5 #radiology #medicalimaging #medicine #healthcare #oncology #cancer #diagnostics #qualityimprovement #structuredreporting #austria #NÖ #niederösterreich

“Our analysis of the Hartwig data has demonstrated that radiation therapy can alter the tumor genome resulting in an increase in small deletions and aneuploidy levels. The presence of such changes may indicate that the tumor is no longer responsive to radiation therapy, which may impact patient care”: Roel Verhaak, PhD, Professor, Department of Neurosurgery, Yale School of Medicine. Would you like to use this data, too? https://lnkd.in/excwE-kp The data is anonymized and made available free of charge to cancer research institutes and hospitals. It is used by research groups all over the world. Hartwig Medical Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that promotes scientific research in the fight against and treatment of cancer and other diseases, in the broadest sense and provided it is in the public interest. #cancerresearch #cancergenomics #bioinformatics
