I had the privilege to attend a panel discussion at TSIS last week where one of the panelists made a comment along the lines of “What is this AI stuff, can we get a 7-pound bucket of AI?” He was making a joke but it reminded me of cloud when it became the next big thing. Vague understandings of what cloud is and what the business cases are led to mass migrations of data and applications that weren’t best suited for it. Now we see more hybrid architectures being adopted to leverage the best of both worlds, on-prem and cloud. Before you buy a 7-pound bucket of AI and have buyer’s remorse because you only needed 3-pounds, lets have a chat about your goals and objectives.
