The upcoming Copper to the World conference will bring together people across the industry to power up the Australian copper sector. With South Australia home to over 70 per cent of Australia’s known copper resources, it’s the perfect home for such an event. And of all the copper players in the state, perhaps none are as recognisable as BHP, which will have a prominent presence at Copper to the World. In case you missed the in-depth discussion with Ken Brophy, Cormark Securities Stefan Ioannou, Arizona Sonoran Copper Company Inc. (ASCU:TSX | ASCUF:OTCQX) and Barksdale Resources Corp. on Arizona's substantial economic contribution and its pivotal role in the global copper mark, watch the recording here: https://lnkd.in/gc9n “The US, as a country, is the World’s 5th largest copper producer…that’s approaching about 1.5Mt a year…70% of that copper is coming from the state of Arizona…Arizona is actually a top 10 global producer…when we’re talking about Arizona, we’re talking about a very significant chunk of the copper pie on a global basis.”

Very interesting idea. Strategically and economically wise especially since China, Russia, and Iran (geopolitical rivals) have significant advantages in the rare earth minerals needed in the modern age with the tech sector. Another key to long term prosperity is the factor of production for farmers whose efforts allow for a growing population. I do wonder if she has also taken into account the importance of potash and other fertilizers which American farmers depend on. Belarus is a key source of potash which Russia is currently looking to take over with the Union State plan. Food and tech products are key in the modern age. As such one has to wonder how to strengthen US influence in core sectors of production. American farmers and families are looking to increase their income on the global market with the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the brewing resistance in Belarus as a potential catalyst for long term economic stability for both the world market and US families. How might Harris get the breadbasket of Ukraine and the core potash industry of Belarus back into the hands of western markets?
One of the few new ideas floated in Kamala Harris's economic proposal was a plan for a “strategic critical mineral reserve.“ But what is that, and why would the U.S. need one?
