Exploring Germany from Above: A Personal Journey of Perspective and Reflection ✈️ Over the past weekend, I embarked on a flying adventure that took me across Germany—from Hof, Plauen, and Schönhagen near Berlin, to Heringsdorf, an offshore journey across the Baltic Sea, and a breathtaking stopover at Sylt, before finally heading home to Paderborn. Flying with my Piper 28 Archer, accompanied by my trusty "First Officer" (my Teddy Bear 🧸), this tour has been nothing short of extraordinary. For those of you who are not familiar with aviation, it’s not just about getting from point A to point B; it’s about gaining a different perspective—literally and figuratively. From above, the world seems calm, serene, and connected in ways we often miss in the hustle of daily life. Flying offers a sense of peace and clarity, especially when crossing vast landscapes or coastal areas that stretch out as far as the eye can see. 🌍🌅 This trip was dynamic and required flexibility, especially in route planning. Adjustments were necessary due to weather conditions and changing air traffic, but that’s one of the challenges I love about VFR (Visual Flight Rules) flying—it's not just about the destination but the journey itself. Through these flights, I was reminded of the importance of adaptability, planning, and focus—skills that translate well into both personal and professional life. And while aviation is my passion and a way to unwind, it also constantly teaches me to approach challenges from new angles, appreciate the bigger picture, and stay calm in any situation. I encourage anyone who has the opportunity to experience aviation from this perspective, whether as a pilot or a passenger.
