“This surgery has given me my life back.” Rene Galloway, a former nurse at AdventHealth Celebration, recently became the first person in the world to undergo a new procedure for patients who struggle with food intolerance and require IV nourishment. When Rene came to AdventHealth Central Florida gastroenterologist Dr. Kambiz Kadkhodayan, she had been on IV nutrition for months. The procedure, which Dr. K and team created, reduces problem spots in the bowel and creates a channel for food, so people like Rene can eat and digest food. What a blessing to not only have researchers and clinicians who provide existing treatments so caringly and competently but who also innovate and create new successful treatment options for patients.
