The EU directive on pay transparency (May 10, 2023) will help employers to review and monitor their pay structure & policies, resulting in adherence to the principle of equal pay. Belgium is a pioneer in promoting gender equality in the workplace, by introducing a gender pay gap reporting obligation back in 2012. On 27 February 2024, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) published for the first time, gender pay gap information for private sector employers with 100 employees or more. It is expected that WGEA’s annual report will incentivise employers to reduce gender pay gaps in their workplace, not least for fear of being named and shamed. Wanted share an insightful we have made with Workplace Gender Equality Agency, shedding light on the recent amendments to the Workplace Gender Equality Act in Australia. 📝 From late 2023, employers reporting to WGEA must provide Executive Summaries and Industry Benchmark Reports to their Board.
