Over the last few months, I have had numerous conversations with customers about our strategic decision to not extend our ongoing licence agreement. And every time I repeat the same thing: Naturana the brand is making big leaps forward. These are exciting times for us, both as a company and as a brand. Our on-point brand message and products are progressing season by season and are finding their way to an evergrowing audience of women globally. We want to focus our time and energy (even more) on the Naturana brand, understand our customer's needs even better and build a more relevant brand Do less, but better, is our first mantra. And our second mantra is "be 10% braver". This meant consciously and courageously deciding to stop cooperating in a licensing model, and to purely focus our company's talents on our own brand. No doubt a brave decision. We are happy to hear that our former partner has found a company that will take over these licences. We have no doubt that they will be able to continue to build on the solid foundations that Naturana has put in place for them. We wish them best of luck ! For us, developping and selling these 12 collections has brought us amazing learnings and we are so excited for the Naturana-focused future that lies ahead. Renzo Unplugged - Almost every fashion brand has begun to talk extensively about sustainability. Even though that's good news, in many cases there's still too much marketing spin for my taste. Well, Renzo Rosso is bit of an outlier in that regard. The founder of OTB who owns brands such as Diesel, JIL SANDER, Marni, Maison Margiela, VIKTOR&ROLF and the licensing unit Staff International, has presented his group's third sustainability report during a press conference in his office in Breganze in Northern Italy. Of course, Renzo highlighted various achievements, for example a 19% decrease in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions in 2023 compared to 2019. Still, he didn't mince words about the long and difficult road ahead. Some of my takeaways: 1) Renzo urges politicians to create a global regulatory playing field. 2) Involving the whole supply chain is a mountainous endevaour. However, it's key. 97% of OTB's emissions in 2023 were Scope 3, especially the coltivation of cotton is resource intensive. 3) Research & Development is necessary. And investment is noteworthy. Take Diesel Rehab. It's a line that's made of fully recycled cotton and elastane, mixed with Tencel virgin fibers. Diesel has partnered up with TEJIDOS ROYO. Launched for the Fall/Winter 2022 show, the first pieces were experimental at best. The fabric was very thick. "The pants walked by themselves", says Renzo. Now the line is "beautiful and protable", says Rosso. "It's taken us 1,5 years to get to that point." 4) Sustainability is not a choice anymore. "My generation has made many mistakes", says Renzo. "The Gen Z clients buy a product only if it's sustainable. If you as a brand aren't sustainable, you risk to be eliminated from the game." Check-out Renzo's best quotes on TextilWirtschaft. Thanks to Renzo, Andrea Rosso, Sara Betteghella, Marita Spera, Federica Bandera and Sarah Possamai for the invite! #sustainability #fashion #esg #climate #carbonneutral #researchanddevelopment #mode #moda #madeinitaly #apparel #clothing #branding #marketing #product #retail #ecommerce #ethics #innovation #entrepreneur #luxury #luxus

Really interesting article... "New German fashion: Is the next generation providing a boost?" Reflecting back on the past season of shows and fashion fairs, it's great to see the growth and visibility of smaller German brands in global conversations and visibility. Working within this space I find it reassuring that the shared discussions, pains and gains of "smaller" fashion brands are being more openly discussed, with solutions being found in collective growth and support. Hopefully the coming FW season will retain this energy and increase in more local support before everybody tries to run off to PFW... https://lnkd.in/dE4fBMTM

Nachhaltige Fast Fashion – Ein Erfolgsprojekt “Made in Germany” Fast Fashion und Nachhaltigkeit? 💪 #Nachhaltigkeit #FastFashion #MadeInGermany #Mode #Innovation #Kapselkollektion #Partnerschaften #Produktion #Textilindustrie
