(3/5) Social Responsibility as Pioneers of the creator economy Powering Local Voices: Boosting Grassroots Movements While global causes are noteworthy, often change begins at the grassroots. Creators have a unique position to amplify local voices, be it a budding entrepreneur or an aspiring politician. In turning their attention to the community, influencers can drive tangible impact right at home. Initiatives we can encourage our creators to engage with Local Politician Campaigning: By openly supporting a local politician whose views align with theirs, creators can help bring focus to community-specific issues. Moreover, their endorsement can be a powerful tool to galvanize young voters, especially towards topics dealing with climate, human rights, and advancing the economy for young people. Spotlighting Small Businesses: Share the stories of local entrepreneurs, artisans, and shop owners. A simple shoutout, an in-depth interview, or even a collaboration can provide immense traction to these businesses. Community Driven Projects: Engage with and promote community development projects. From local art installations to community gardens, backing such initiatives adds value to the locale and rallies community spirit. Street Interviews and Tours: Go into the community and conduct street interviews, discussing local issues, and highlighting the vibrancy and uniqueness of the community. These immersive experiences not only provide a platform for local voices but also foster a sense of unity and belonging.

👋 I'm a firm believer that creating solutions for social change is more than just a catchy phrase on my LinkedIn bio - it's a guiding principle that defines my purpose. I'm passionate about driving positive transformation in our society by tackling pressing issues like education inequality, environmental sustainability, and community empowerment. To me, this bio line reflects the idea that every single one of us has an important role in creating a better world. Whether through grassroots initiatives, advocacy campaigns, or innovative projects, we should use our skills, knowledge, and resources to address systemic challenges and make a meaningful impact. I've seen firsthand the power of collective effort in driving change through my work and collaborations. It's about leveraging diverse perspectives, embracing innovation, and fostering partnerships to amplify our impact. We should remember that social change is a journey that requires perseverance, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning. #CreatingSolutions #SocialChange #PurposefulAction #CollaborativeImpact

🗣Youth Voice & Climate Champion: Global Humanitarian Studies @ UCL | For Planet Chair | ChangemakerxChange Community Member
Change-makers need community. In the 4 years since I got involved in activism, I've: gone from age 16 to 20 years old, left secondary school, left sixth form, started university and engaged in 14+ projects. I'd love to say this has been a beautifully smooth sailing journey of learning and growing, but we all probably know that with growing up that's rarely true. Reflecting recently, I've seen how much it's felt like the weight of the world has been put on the shoulders of young people by those in power to somehow 'save it'. Young people who are not only trying to grow up and figure out who they are and how they fit into the world but are then also trying to change the world that they're growing up in. That can be A LOT of pressure. I've constantly struggled to learn what entering spaces authentically looks like. Struggled to find hope when all I saw at points was despair. Struggled to live with the anxiety of growing up in a climate crisis. Struggled to balance enjoying being a teenager, but also the importance and passion of being a force of change. This is where, for me, community has come in. A place to find hope, support, power and understanding from people globally. That is also why I've found ChangemakerXchange to be such a powerful network 💥 To go from the incredible '24 Change Makers for Planet cohort in Sweden, to now the larger Changemaker x Change community has given me just the space of support and uplift I needed 💛 Finding a community where you feel welcome as a young change maker can be hard, but THIS - this is it for me. This is your sign to keep seeking and looking for those spaces where you feel welcome and sustained in a way that works for you because they are out there. No one can do this alone and you deserve to have those networks of support around you. Find those communities, create your own but don't be made to feel you have to go it alone. If anyone ever wants to connect, has any questions or just fancies a general chit chat my messages are always open! 💛 Our power is in our connections and collaborations, so let's use it. Looking for some fellow change makers you might be able to connect with? "#Narratives are inherently unstable because they are always contested. While often presented as binaries—individualism versus the collective good, scarcity versus #abundance, competition versus #collaboration— narratives operate on a spectrum and in dynamic relationship to each other. The goal is not to replace one narrative with another but to achieve a more balanced distribution. For example, few want to ditch individualism altogether because that could compromise autonomy and agency, but the weight of its current position in our social imaginary needs to be reduced to place more emphasis on #interconnectivity and collective #care. "Since a world where all are flourishing has never existed, the ability to experiment is a precondition for most transformational narrative interventions. Rather than engineer discrete outcomes that assume the answer is known from the beginning, the role of a narrative practitioner is to create the conditions for sweeping change to emerge organically. For this to happen at scale, a distributed and coordinated set of actors must have the license to engage in multiple experiments that test hypotheses over an extended time horizon. At present, the norms of philanthropy stand in stark contrast to this degree of operational ambiguity." https://lnkd.in/eku4QJec

Award Winning Keynote Speaker for high-performing leaders, specializing in IMPACT. 25+ years. Chief Operating Officer. 3X Bestselling Author. Hype Woman. *Check the Services section below*
How are you using your talent to make the world better for others? You've heard the term 'impact' from the mouths of CEOs and most of us believe that impact is reserved for what we do within business hours. Yet, 70% of Chief Executives claim that it’s their commitment to social impact programs that improve their financial perfromance. In other words, they’re saying that the impact we make outside of our cubicle walls is what’s driving much of their corporate success. So what does it really mean to be an 'Impact Maker'? I’ve always had a strong belief that I need to contribute to my community. I’m sure I got it from my parents; they were the helpers. They provided a home for our friends who “ran away”, had the community voting site in our garage year after year, and they led all the social programs that we joined as kids. They were never “joiners” they were contributors who believed that we all create community… they were Impact Makers. And, now that’s how I live my life. If I have been professionally developed and invested in to be a great leader, those talents cannot be confined to where I work from 8-5 every day. From contributing as a Community Volunteer Leader for the Red Cross, to starting a nonprofit, leading political campaigns, to leading community action projects, and even leading a nonprofit currently as their COO… my talents and skills need to be utilized to make my world beyond business better. Are you truly making the impact that you could? I believe that the greater our ambition, the greater our impact. Each individual's contribution is needed for our society to thrive. If we all increase our reach and personal responsibility, imagine the impact on the future of work, community, and humanity we could all have. We have a responsibility as leaders to make an impact... and, that should be why we're all here.
