The feminine point of view has commanded 2023. It won’t change in 2024. And I don’t know who needs to hear this, but scantily clad “booth babes” aren’t hitting with your target demographic. Ask me how I know. 👀 Women continue to drive the conversation forward despite the obstacles of the cannabis industry. A proliferation of women-oriented products as well as events offer a glimpse into a new world, and a different vibe than has historically driven the predominantly male-centered weed industry. Modern consumers are hungry for more representation. Patriarchy hurts both men and women. There’s been a decline in diverse owners in cannabis recently, so it seems like we’re missing the mark.

Thank you to the women who were part of the Women Cultivating Success Conversations with Women in the Cannabis Industry. The purpose of the Conversations is to bring women together from across the country to acknowledge the issues and obstacles and discuss solutions and actions. Each Conversation has been different in the solutions and actions suggested and attendees. January’s Conversation has inspired WCCC to curate panels, speakers and moderators from our membership. Participants will curate topics that will showcase their expertise. WCCC will present the panels to cannabis conferences and expos for consideration. The keynote, panelist, and moderator for the Northeastern Cannabis Industry Networking Dinner were selected for their expertise, longevity, and success in the cannabis space. I’m proud to say that seven are WCCC members. February’s Conversation, for lack of a better word, was Awesome. My sincere thank you for your voices - for your professionalism and inspiration. Each action appears to be a small step forward, but magnified by each woman in the cannabis space it becomes a tsunami. “Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into the water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects” Dalai Lama And, yes, Susa E, there are Rags to Riches stories in the Cannabis Space. https://lnkd.in/gg6BN7q #womenscannabischamberofcommerce #womencultivatingsuccess #womenhelpingwomen #womensupportingwomen #womennetworking #cannabisindustry #cannabiscommumity #womenentrepreneurs #WCCC #womencultivatingsuccessconversations #womeninthecannabisindustry #womenincannabiscareers #womenownedcannabiscompanies

More and more cannabis consumers are opting for non-smokable products like edibles and beverages, this is especially the case among women. With ease of use, discretion, more flexibility in where you consume, more standardization in dosing, and the advent of nano-emulisified products, I see lots of reasons why we see this trend happening. How about you? Do you still prefer smoking flower? Or have edibles started creeping they way into your consumption routine? I gave up smoking over a year ago and switched to vaping flower. But, when my 3 month break is over (almost there!) I think I will likely give up flower completely. There are amazing fast acting edibles on the market like those from Garden Society! #edibles #cannabis #trends #data

Not a Podcast - Not a Webinar - Not an Infomercial. It's a Conversation! Everyone has the opportunity to be on screen and unmuted. We talk amongst our women colleagues in the cannabis industry about the obstacles and inequity we encounter. This is an experience shared by the majority of women in the industry. WCCC’s goal is to open up the Conversation to women across the country to begin working on solutions, and a future with more representation in C-Suite position and business ownership. An MJBizDaily report highlights that only 19% of cannabis businesses across Colorado, Massachusetts, Nevada and Ohio are owned by women. Massachusetts, in particular, lags behind with a meager 5% ownership. A 2021 report published by the National Cannabis Industry Association and The Arcview Group found that only 8% of cannabis CEOs are women. In a 2019 MJBiz Daily report 37% of the executive positions in the industry were held by women. In a 2021 report that number fell to 22.1%. As the legal cannabis industry grows, the rate at which women are entering the industry is now declining. More women are leaving the cannabis industry. How do we overcome the obstacles and issues faced by women in the cannabis industry? How do we move into executive positions? What can we do to support women cannabis business owners? What is the future for women in the cannabis industry? This Women Cultivating Success Conversation is limited to 25 participants. It is sold out. If you would like to be on a waiting list. Please comment below. There are usually 5 last minute cancellations. 🌟 Celebrating Women in Cannabis Leadership 🌟 Women have always played a crucial role in cannabis culture. From using the plant for medicine to supporting early economies with hemp cultivation, their contributions are foundational. Activists like “Brownie Mary” Rathbun and advocates like Paige Figi paved the way for today's industry. Now, women are leading with compassion, authenticity, and innovation. Their focus on empathy and collaboration is reshaping the industry. Though women make up only 39% of cannabis executives as of 2023, their impact is significant. Highlighting these leaders emphasizes the importance of diversity for a thriving industry.
