Even kids living with Autism deserve quality childhood development.
Dehumanization and the stigmatization of the innocent kids and their families are indicators of misconceptions and wrong notions held and practiced over time.
But the Global Autism Awareness Month avails us of the much needed platform to initiate societal conscientization.
Being child-friendly, emphasis is on children living with Autism and preparing a friendly society for them to survive.

Today, we're proudly wearing blue to show our support for National Autism Awareness Day 💙
Let's spread acceptance, understanding, and love for individuals with autism. #AutismAwareness
Children's Therapy Network is celebrating Autism awareness month and reposting the CDC's notice about Autism: April is Autism Acceptance Month. The recognition raises awareness about autism acceptance and promotes inclusion and connectedness for people with autism. Social and community support can help people with autism achieve optimal health and reach their full potential. CDC promotes early identification and provides essential data on autism to inform programs and policies that support children with autism and their families. CDC activities include surveillance and monitoring, educational materials and resources, and sharing best practices with state, territorial, and national partners. https://lnkd.in/g3E483fm#Childrenstherapynetwork.

In the words of Haley Moss, autism self-advocate, 'It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes an even bigger village to raise a child with a disability." Our Autism Superhero Awards recognise those special individuals who make sacrifices every day to ensure that those with autism are supported in their intellectual, mental and physical development. It promotes awareness and acceptance and more importantly, it brings a sense of recognition and inclusion in a country where individuals with autism continue to be marginalised on a daily basis."
The awards are open to nationals of TT and has five categories:
1. Personal achievement: an individual with autism who has excelled despite challenges.
2. Outstanding sibling: a brother/sister who constantly supports their sibling with autism in everyday life.
3. Dedicated youth volunteer: a young person aged ten to 25 whose voluntary work has made a difference in the lives of individuals with autism.
4. Superhero parent/caregiver: a parent or caregiver who has exceeded expectations in their given situation.
5. Committed educator: a teacher/educator who has worked consistently to make a difference in the lives of individuals with autism.

Pass the Autism CARES Act of 2024!
The Autism CARES Act is the only federal legislation solely dedicated to improving the lives of people with autism. Important parts of this law expire on September 30, 2024, unless Congress acts quickly to pass the Autism CARES Act of 2024!
This Act holds the key to $2 billion for countless programs, including:
*Developing personalized treatments and services through research
*Training future healthcare professionals to ensure quality care
*Supporting pediatric training programs focused on developmental and behavioral challenges
*Translating research into clinical practice and valuable resources or toolkits for families
*Sustaining numerous other initiatives designed to meet the diverse needs of people with autism across all ages
